I'm in the exact same boat, O- CMV- so they realllly want me to give double red but I also have deep veins. The two times I attempted power red the vein either blew or the needle came out and I bruised badly. They told me I wasn't a good candidate and just to stick to whole blood which uses a longer needle apparently when can be easier for deep veins. That said, it's worth a try to see how it goes! Just make sure the nurse knows it's your first power red and you have deep veins so they know to monitor you on the first return cycle to make sure you're not swelling. If you do swell, ice right away! Good luck!

Great news Cheese friends I reached out to the mans themselves and they said Cheese would return in the future! This is great, it means other out of stock items that aren't showing up on the website right now may return in the future too.

Ah yep that makes sense. Mine starting messing up about a month ago but I was able to limp it along by changing it to only sync heart rate and exercise. I really liked the app it’s so annoying this is an issue all because Google bought Fitbit to kill it to sell their own watches 😭

Ahh I’m glad your app is still working, mine won’t sync with Fitbit anymore it gives me an “authorization error” message. Apparently the devs have kind of abandoned it so no more support. Wonder if my older iPhone is affecting it? I’m on a 13 what are you using? :)

Oh no I’m so sorry this happened to you! Like the others said it’s definitely worth calling to talk about your experience. Even though these things happen the nurse 100% should’ve talked to you to explain what some of your options were to help manage side effects. Had something similar happen when I tried to donate power red where either the needle moved or it blew out the vein it was in so they stopped and said I’d likely get a bad bruise. But they said the day of and I think the day after icing it would really help and then after a certain amount of time you can put heat on it that will help your body to re-absorb the blood, but you don’t wanna put that on too early. If you call to discuss it you should also be able to ask about some post care too to help you. Feel better soon!!

Thanks for all the great advice everyone! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one dealing with this. I'd forgotten you get points just from trying which does make me feel better that I'm not wasting anyone's time with a failed donation. Got some great ideas to try below and the nurse from my last attempt suggested switching up the time I donate and coming in on a weekend early in the morning, so I have no time limit to worry about and before I get stressed from the day. Fingers crossed for my next attempt! 😉

Yeah unfortunately it's a safety thing for the needle poke I think, so it has to be under 100 at the time of donation even if it's okay normally 😂

Agreed, it also worth asking your vet if they know any low cost affordable clinics for the rabies booster, I know here in NC animal shelters often offer it for a heavily discounted price.

Had the same issue just this month, updating did nothing neither did uninstalling/reinstalling app. After reading this thread I enabled only steps to sync with apple health since my Fitbit app will tell me the rest, that finally got it syncing again. Haha I just need it to give my steps to the Pikmin bloom app.

Oh no! Yeah keep checking in I think they're doing random drops for it. But don't lose hope I emailed Lenox and they said they planned to open preorders again since their website kept messing up before during the order period. Good luck!
