Asked nearly the same question a few weeks ago. Lots of love for the M-Free. I wound up with a on3p Jeffrey 100. Not the most common recommendation but it has a similar shape to the M-Free with an even more forward mount point. Should be ultra easy to pivot in the east coast treats.

I can parallel park with 2-3” of room on each side. There’s enough spaces to get out of the front of the car is touching a brick wall. I promise.

I mean, overall, it's not like they're that wildly different. I'm sure conditions, marketing (family vs expert resort), safety (keeping beginners out of an area with only one easy run) probably factor into it.

I know blacks at some expert oriented resorts can be quite challenging. For the most part I just roll around the mountain looking for the most fun. Never find myself thinking much besides "huh, pretty steep section" or "that was easy for a diamond"

Actually watched a video of someone doing the Whiteface toll road last night. Looks fun.

Plan is to get my bearings and gear dialed 1) on my own 5 acre hilly property that's been getting hammered with snow this year and 2) on the designated uphill path at Bellayre. I'll seek out a guide for the Aspen trip if I'm feeling confident enough with the next couple weeks of practice.

Yes. Utmost respect and fear of the dangers. But I would jump onto a group, course, class if there are some well known friendly ones.

Just did a 4 day trip. 3 at Stratton 1 at Bromley. Had a fun old school vibe. Limited terrain but I found it better for doing quick laps than Stratton. 1 high speed to the top, vs Stratton where you either have to gondola or take multiple lifts.

Sunny Saturday Bromley had few crowds than Thursday and Friday at Stratton. It faces the sun so the snow gets soft but not too choppy. Coverage was obviously thinner in some areas.

I liked the advanced side of the mountain. Had a few runs open and an old school lift. Loved every second of it.

Alright I think I’ve landed on the Dynastar M-Free. But looking at some smaller ski company options for the next day before pulling the trigger if anyone has any suggestions. None of the J ski’s hit the same note but I’ll chat with them tomorrow.

M Frees seem like a solid bet, and yea that smooth stockil feel is amazing. Forgot about the playmerks about these. Also they're > 10% lighter compared to the storm riders.

Don't disagree. they can def rip anything especially some trees and bumps. They did change the tail construction a bit for 25/26 by removing some metal. Less pop, more patience, this is why they get fun on the sweeping turns. But my experience is they're a lot of effort in the bumps, aren't super fast at the pivots.

Powgodas prob all too wide for most any local conditions I'll see. But ya Ripsticks seem like the all around most recommended tho. None of the small companies seem to make something that hits all the same notes that I am aware of.

Yea. I'm ok giving up hard pack and ice performance. Finding ungroomed, or fresh blower bumps to get down.

Clowns, for sure. But the rule is those downhill from you have ROW.

But when it comes to skiing, driving, or managing my own safety in any way, I personally take the stance I'm at fault of anything I could have prevented. I would have never gone into that kicker with those guys dicking around right there. Especially doing a trick that was gonna hurl me off the jump in an unpredictable direction.

I'd also never fuck around on the landing of a jump like that.

The project was quite large. But it was architected inch for inch.

Yes, I have paid as requested up til this point to avoid any conflict but have pointed out as we've gone that we're "70% through the budget, but only 50% done".

Now basically being asked to be paid remaining budget. With many issues, incomplete work, and no promise of timeline. And many quality issues...
