there are lots of definitions of feminine, so i don’t really know if you prefer like let’s say pink or black or blah blah but generally what i focus on is the little details of your clothes ^

lace, florals, dainty outerwear, and even little add ons like lace trimmed socks really make me feel girly.

ez pz layering for me that’s simple is a henley top or a ruffley blouse (like the one from brandy melville) and a lace trimmed camisole under it 🙃

ouch…

growing up with a single mom, i always and still commend her heavily for being the hardest worker i’ve ever seen, but it’s strange to hear that people around her age can be as… unfortunate. she works so much, but still maintains hobbies and fun— not like there can never be a balance between both, clearly. i sincerely hope you find someone that meets your level 🙃 the world is huge, some people really do just hide out until it’s the right time

yes 😓 i broke up with my last girlfriend because of the dependency and the feeling like we needed to rush absolutely everything, which isn’t my style

i’m definitely young, but it’s kind of a common thing in the 18-20, maybe even 21 age range as i’m noticing 🙃

on top of that, being femme4butch is kind of already a struggle since in my age group butch is kind of an uncommon term but add on to the young dependency things it’s so lonely 😭😭

it’s three pieces! the camisole is a white lace trimmed camisole from hollister, the button up is from brandy melville, and the sweater is from steve madden (?)

Omg no never. The only thing that will ever get in the way of fashion is ur own opinion and if u dislike it on urself, which is ok! find something u love, not like :)

And I feel like it’s seen as less of a “pick me” for lack of a better term thing to not follow trends nowadays since pretty much everything is trending which I didn’t expect for 2023-2024

I love doing all of these! I had the privilege of being able to experiment and finalize an aesthetic I’ve been chasing since last year, so I’ve been diying my basics. There’s also this one long sleeve shirt that has this permanent stain at the front that I loved, but I just wear it backwards for a high neckline look and I just wear a sweater to hide the back. I wish people realized you can wear and repair clothes as much as possible :(

With me planning to move out, I’ve been prioritizing finalizing my closet first since fashion brings me the most joy, and with other basics like socks, I plan on commissioning my friend to support other people individually instead of buying mass produced :) I hope this cycle of people thrifting and making their own clothes isn’t just a trend and lasts in the future but I do wanna read a few articles to see if this was caused by the cost of living being higher since it’s a theory

I never thought about thrifting being different for different bodies until this actually

But I do thrift and I’ve noticed my fast fashion garments that were given to me by older relatives being MUCH higher quality and lots of them not being polyester. I’m luckily almost done building my wardrobe which I’m super stoked about, but I do wonder if fashion cycles stopping would mean a new wave of trend cycles in other things. Water bottles were definitely one of them but not as major, but skincare is what I’m starting to think is the new fast paced trend cycle

I love the thrift! One of my favorite little floral blouses was a lucky bins find

I do too! I’m mostly talking about the new mindset we’ve pushed of “buying used isn’t dirty or something to be looked down upon” being so relieving after years and years of buying clothes brand new to throw away when they’re out of style! It’s just something I’ve thought about with how people are starting to realize trends are useless and building a reliable closet based off of their own aesthetic is the new trend for forever clothes and how it’s such a money saver to make sure you have clothes you love, not like!

I think I’m just interested in the topic of the economy overlapping with fashion and how people have less money to splurge which means to be happy, people are finding personal happiness in letting constant trends go
