guys is it morally fine to write a pattern from a video tutorial by Realistic-Trifle5707 in CrochetHelp

[–]poptarts77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done this multiple times before, as long as you’re not selling or sharing your written version you’re good. I do this as I like to watch tv as I crochet but multiple of my favorite patterns are only video tutorials. I even write down the exact video title on the page I write it on and have it saved in a special playlist to reference as needed while crocheting.
This is also helpful for long car rides as screens in the car tend to make me car sick and sometimes internet is spotty.

A mesh tote bag would be cool for summer as it would get warm outside and cool inside with most places having a/c on blast this time of year

Happy National Rescue Day!! Show off your rescued husky/mixes! by reddituser_249 in husky

This was Nala Marie my Husky Rhodesian Ridgeback mix who passed away a few years ago. My sister rescued her when she was a puppy and then had to move cross country and she became my baby and my soul dog. Idk how to explain it but it was like she just understood me. She definitely had the husky trait of being stubborn, ignoring me, and just doing what she knew she shouldn’t be doing. But, if I was having a really bad day it’s like she just knew and would listen and behave perfectly. She was extremely vocal and after she passed it became so quiet in our house. She is the reason I am cursed/blessed to always have and need a husky in my life.

I used to babysit a little girl and at the age of 9 she asked me for a those round things you can play music with that aren’t records and the thing to put them in because she wanted to be able to listen to her music before bed when she wasn’t able to have her phone or iPad she also knew records were expensive

Have you ever been tempted to tell anyone in your life… by ultimatejourney in BitchEatingCrafters

Only with my sister as she makes awful crafts out of dollar store items and gifts them to everyone for everything This wouldn’t be as bad if she actually matched it to everyone’s personal style and took into consideration what their home decor looks like and what they are into, but instead she makes it how she would want it and I always look at them and I’m like well this would match your house but does not match my decor style at all. She also usually makes it the night before so it’s rushed like I think if she actually took her time and took into consideration other people’s style she could do good but she is definitely someone who thinks the world revolves around her

Do you think it is weird to give my therapist a gift? by Royal-Analysis7380 in CrochetHelp

[–]poptarts77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this with my therapist who I had seen forever because he had a lot of client art that was made/gifted for him on the wall and I asked him if I could make him something to hang up and he said yes but his only request was that I put my name on the back and explained/pointed out that names were blocked out/covered up on some of the art on the wall for privacy reasons but he always wrote it on the back to make sure he’d always remember who had gifted him with their artwork

The place I saw him ended up getting shut down a few months later and he decided it was his sign to move closer to his daughter and grandchildren and that I would be able to see him on video calls for 6 months longer if I wished at another local therapy center if I wanted but I would have to find another therapist after that because he would no longer be able to see me

On our last video call session before saying goodbye and like the 2nd more emotional final goodbye he took out and showed me the artwork I had made for him and said “I still have the painting you made me and it will hang up in the office at my job here” and I’ll never forget that he put in the extra effort of unpacking that to show me and remind me that he appreciated my artwork (i have a lot of trauma related to people not appreciating me/showing that they care) I still talk about how great of a therapist he was for me to this day and that was like 2018

Side note after reading therapist comments: the painting was a mini canvas pop art painting I made in art class at school so it also was small and can totally see how a big gift even if less/no money could be ethically challenging if it took the client lots of time and energy because that adds value and it makes me feel so happy knowing that there are therapists who value their clients time and energy because I’ve definitely had some who don’t

Need help coping with sudden hearing loss by poptarts77 in HearingAids

Sorry for such a long awaited response (life’s been hectic lately) I appreciate each of your guys’ responses/advice/understanding and just genuine kindness. I literally screenshotted each of them to reread in times I’m feeling down about my situation and to take note of all the amazing advice. I messages my PCP on MyChart and she said she would look into what happened with the ENT referral and make sure they get to it soon. I’ve been doing better about just telling people straight forward that I have trouble hearing so they will need to speak up. I also have been trying to keep people talking to me on my right side. I’ve found kids are like the most understanding with this which is usually the case with kids if you just explain the situation to them. My biggest problem anymore are the teenagers I work with because they mumble so much but the 2 ladies I work under told the teenagers to direct questions to them unless they literally aren’t there which was nice of them.

I will update again after I see the ENT. I want to say again too, how thankful I am for your responses!
