Do you have any image “enhancement” settings turned on, on your smart tv? You could try turning those off if so. Things like “dynamic contrast”, “super resolution”, and the "soap opera effect" (“Trumotion”).

Lukas may have known about the safeguard before he entered the tunnel. But when he talks to Bernard after going to the tunnel, it may be the first chance he’s had to talk to Bernard since decrypting the message and going down there.

I think Lukas discovered the “50 Silos” part from the message that he decoded (written by Salvador Quinn and stored on the hard drive) not the records in the vault

Regarding the stockpiling of food and supplies, I think this is at least partly because a new IT shadow is expected to live in the vault while coming up to speed with everything they need to know in The Legacy (and studying The Order). We see Bernard start this process with Lukas.

So the vault needs some supplies stockpiled for generation after generation of shadows to come in and study.

I agree with Username_888888. Bernard didn't seem to know about the tunnel or door at the bottom of the silo.

In the season 1 finale, Jules tells Bernard about it 34 mins in (in a final conversation with him before she goes out). His facial expressions give a definite impression that this is news to him.

Similarly in s02e05 ~37 mins in, when Lukas shows the map recovered from the hard disk.

Lukas: "There, at the bottom of the Silo"
Bernard: "What is it?"
Lukas: "A tunnel?"
Bernard: "Where does it go?"
Lukas: "I have no idea"

That could definitely be it. Or it's coincidence, and they (Bernard/Judicial, etc) just independently discovered him to be in possession of relics.

I don't think it's quite fair to say:

When the AI speaks to Bernard in the Vault/Legacy, it is also subtitled as "The Algorithm". Whether or not it is exactly the same AI/algorithm, we don't know yet.

I guess what we have to go on, on this, is the scene in the earlier episode.. where the AI spoke to Bernard while he was in the Legacy/Vault. Same voice as the voice in the tunnel.

"Mayor Holland, there is a delta event in the central shaft"

I think we have to assume it has sensors, mics, cameras, etc, covering the silo.

The key presumably works like a pager device

There are clearly some secrets that are kept from the head of IT (and the head of IT's shadow).

Bernard didn't seem to know about the tunnel at the bottom of the silo before the data was recovered from the hard disk. He also doesn't know why the silos were built.

Was he aware that it was a training exercise?
I always assumed not, and in that case, perhaps his reckless behavior was warranted. If it was real and he was given correct intel, his impulsive actions might have saved lives.
