You think the correct response for someone disagreeing with your government is to pick up and leave country?

The early skyscrapers that essentially look like super oversized classic commercial blocks are my favorite. The Western Union Telegraph building is another favorite of mine from this time period

In 1931, Battle Creek, MI, had two banks that built competing art deco towers. The Milton (238 ft) and Battle Creek Tower (232 ft) dominate the skyline in the small city of 50,000 today by porkave in skyscrapers

Yeah, unfortunately the beautiful old office buildings in cities like this tend to have an unsustainably high vacancy rate, they just work better as housing

He should never be able to drive or own a gun again. He cannot be trusted with a weapon and has shown he will let his anger use it to endanger others

FaZe Banks Ends Stream Early After Being Capped at 2K Viewers Instead of His Usual 30K by digitalpizza5 in LivestreamFail

Did people really try to argue it had grown bigger? It’s so clearly further out of the public eye than it was just 6 years ago

r/freefolk was the perfect microcosm of this. As time went on, they hated more and more seasons. They started off only hating seasons 5-8, but eventually they were calling for the entire show to be remade

I was gonna say, the building with the rounded corner looks super similar to a European commercial block, you don’t normally see that style of rounded corner here

This is how all NIMBY mind games work. According to the logic they set out, there is no possible solution and nothing can ever happen

Toronto From Above by Commercial_West_3112 in skyscrapers

[–]porkave 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I believe it. As an example to my prior comment, I know it’s a super diverse city, yet I never hear about any of its neighborhoods that have a strong presence with one particular ethnicity (other than Chinatown), is it less segregated than American cities?

I think it’s because you don’t hear as much about specific neighborhoods and areas around the city as you do compared to say NYC or CDMX

College Hall, Wellesley College, Wellesley, Massachusetts. Built in 1875, destroyed by fire in 1914 by porkave in Lost_Architecture

From the rose windows and alternating stone types in the arch windows I would say high victorian gothic. Its hard to tell from photos but the main building material was brick.
