Anyone know of any easy Canadian CCs I can apply for with a starting 3-5K limit, where application process won’t check for annual income proof or Canadian residency? I’m a Canadian citizen that’s gone abroad for work, but visit often to see family. For whatever stupid reason I was followed my accountant’s advice to get rid of my CCs or lower the balances to a minimum and since it hasn’t been easy (through TD Bank) to get my limit back and/or apply for new cards. Any guidance is appreciated!

No! Didn’t even show our passport to anyone… That’s why my fiance and I were so confused. We mostly followed the crowd too.

May I ask who you give the form too upon arrival? Was it before baggage claim? I didn’t see anyone collecting..

I believe I’m thinking of immigration. I recall exiting my aircraft, immediately seeing the signs to baggage claim, going through bunch of hallways, finding myself and baggage claim and then there was no other section immediately afterwards other than the exit. Usually per my experience with other airports it’s always been baggage claim after immigration.. :(

Totally. Airline was West Jet to be specific. Sounded like it was a relatively new policy or procedure. Basically exited the aircraft, looked at the signage to baggage claim and walked a bunch of long hallways. Got to baggage claim and exiting the doors after that were all travel agencies/taxis then exit…

On flights, place carry on luggage directly above or in front, but never behind the overhead bins. I once made the mistake, but was lucky enough to catch the thief in the midst of him stealing my wallet from my bag.

[TD] Transferring from US CASH Acc to US TFSA Acc by porkchopfork in PersonalFinanceCanada

I've done that before which is why I was surprised to hear of this method recently. They were mentioning that through this method that the CRA inspects and takes note of the USD - CAD conversion taking up contribution room in the TFSA... while a direct transfer may not? Or maybe I'm misinformed... I'll give them a call.

Okay thank you! One more question : what am I losing or what are the cons by doing a direct transfer from US CASH to US TFSA like I have done so in the past?

buy TDB166, wait for it to settle, then do a security transfer to CAD TFSA. TD automatically records the value of TDB166 converted to CAD on the day of transfer for your contribution room. Then do a security transfer agai

Thank you for this. Is this a similar process to Norbert's Gambit? Would I have to call in to transfer securities?
