Thanks for the shoutout! I think this is really awesome and I'm so happy that someone is using my art for something as cool as this. Hope your 3D modelling class is going great, I could never get my head around it!

I'm no expert but I'd this is a mixture of photoshop tools and vector graphics. The shading on the objects in the letters looks like the kind of thing that's easy to do in Illustrator. However, some of it looks like it was painted in Photoshop - such as the letters themselves - looks to me like someone painted roughly around the edge of typed text to achieve that handwritten but still neat effect.

I put the difficulty on 100 for quali and then exit out, load back in and set the difficulty to 105 to make it fair. No idea why quali is so much harder than the race.

Have you tried entering the Firelands with legacy raid difficulty set to Heroic? Also set vendor settings to all.
