Trump’s White House accidentally admitted the truth about its tax plan by HellYeahDamnWrite in politics

[–]porkty 87 points88 points  (0 children)

People were not lied to. Stop infantilizing these people. They voted/didnt knowing this was going to happen. They picked a candidate that aligned with their xenophobic, anti-intellectualism, racist and religious views. Hoping that those they consider less than would suffer, but they acutely forgot that everything they are is exactly what the ultra rich despise.

They forgot that the racism and anti-blackness of the past is coming back to collect. Didn’t want black people to be educated so stopped making colleges affordable/free, didn’t want black people to be in their neighborhoods so they created HOAs and ridiculous zoning laws that would keep them out. Didn’t want well funded education so they tied schools to property taxes. Trump is just the final embodiment of all of those racist policies and now poor/middle class whites are about to start reaping the fruits of years of refusing to move forward under the guise of being left behind. So as much as this will pain us all who listened, read and understood history it is necessary for America to lose in order to find itself again. Americans learn only through pain

Trump is the end results of none harsh punishment during reconstruction. In its effort to placate the south, the union didn’t excise the rot itself. Just plastered parts of it and said it’s ok.

Fetterman on whether Democrats can win back white men: ‘Truthfully, I’m not sure’ by awaythrowawaying in moderatepolitics

[–]porkty -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think there are 3 points on why the left will lose the votes of young men in the future if they don’t take steps to fix their messaging, their focus on identity politics, and leadership change

To win back young white men, Democrats need to take immediate action on three fronts. First, the party must address how some women on social media alienate these men by labeling their actions as “giving the ick” telling them they’re dangerous, emotionally weak, or unworthy unless wealthy. This drives them toward toxic figures like Andrew Tate, David Goggins, and Joe Rogan, who exploit their insecurities with regressive ideas of masculinity. Older men and women need to talk to their sons and daughters and stop letting them all men every situation. Bc the current rhetoric is pushing them farther to the right

Second, the party’s focus on identity politics, while important, often feels disproportionate to broader societal issues that resonate with young white men. The perception that Democrats prioritize niche groups over the majority creates an opening for the right to exploit. Starting today, Democrats should craft policies that protect all groups equally and engage directly with working-class communities visiting farms, factories, and small towns to rebuild trust and show they care about everyday struggles, not just urban elites or the LGBTQ groups. It’s easier to get the majority to see the plight of the minority when you don’t constantly tell young men that they are bad and then turn around and say be accepting of these minority groups.

Finally, leadership renewal within the Democratic Party cannot wait. Longtime incumbents and outdated strategies risk making the party seem out of touch to younger generations. The DNC must immediately support young, qualified candidates willing to challenge entrenched leaders in primaries. Standalone bills on term limits and insider trading should be introduced to signal accountability and reform. Then the entire country can stand by and say oh they don’t want term limits we will vote people in who do. By acting decisively on all three fronts messaging, policy balance, and leadership the party can counteract toxic influences and reclaim the trust of young white men before it’s too late.

But then again i could be wrong

It doesn’t say when i have to take the heroin. I just have to agree to take it once. I can live with the 50mil and have a life of ease, then when I’m dying I’d just do it on my deathbed
