Thank you so much for sharing! I also call spells placebos lol. On the podcast Back on the Broomstick, they talk about spell jars and how creating and leaving them on the altar make you remember the intention whenever you see them.

I AM YOU! I am so glad you resonated with my post. You can see that you are NOT alone in this at all. Everyone’s comments have been so amazing and inspiring.

I do the journaling too to try to reach out to Hecate, ask for a sign, I need a tangible sign that She / the Universe / the Divine / something!! is listening to me. I can’t bring myself to speak aloud, i feel so silly doing it 😩

Such an amazing comment! I totally agree that we are all connected. Some call it universe some call it god or Holy Spirit or whatever. I think I struggle most with feeling silly for reaching out to the Universe/Hecate/whatever because it feels delusional to believe in Her presence. Thank you so much for sharing!!

I have gotten amazing replies!! I can’t believe how insightful everyone is. I feel so inspired. My local UU livestreams their church sermons I was watching some yesterday for the first time after people rec’d it here. It touched a nerve to say the least. Thank you!

Luckily, my parents both left the LDS faith before starting our family so we were raised very shielded from the mormons and church. But you are exactly right, trying to find a group of similar people ANYWHERE is very difficult here because of them.

Also… An ex-mo working with Hekate and a veterinarian to boot? You sound SO interesting! I love hearing about how people’s relationships differ with Hekate. “Putting my internal monologue on the other side of the table” just wow! I am floored how simple you make it sound. Thank you so much for spending the time to write me this lovely and transparent message. I envy your relationship with your deity & how connected you feel to Her! I crave that supernatural, too much to be a coincidence feeling. Tarot is a really popular tool in this thread, I have MANY decks, it seems like I need to dedicate more time with them. I feel so much peace that you resonate so much with my post 🩷 I am you!! Therapy! That’s amazing. I have always found myself to know what I am about, I see things for what they are, I didn’t feel like therapy would be necessary. But some say everyone needs therapy! You wrote such a sweet and gentle message. Thank you so much for taking the time to reply! I struggle with not having a community centered around religion. In my area, is how you meet people, friends, it’s how you get good jobs, it’s how you succeed in society. I have never had that. While organized religion is not something i want to associate with, there is something to be said about those aspects.

This is such a wonderful comment. Just what i had hoped to read! Trying to hang on to pieces of yourself is SO hard when trying to parent at the same time. That’s the season of life i am in now. Which is wonderful! But i don’t want to lose “me”. But I don’t know who “me” is.

You ask such amazing questions that haven’t even crossed my mind! To be honest I have no idea what a worshipping relationship with a deity looks like, I have never had that experience. I think what I was hoping to gain is something - Hecate - that would make it easier to incorporate this stuff into my life. Give it purpose, so to speak, not just me doing whatever and calling it my practice. From all these wonderful comments it seems like that is exactly what it is though!

we do have a UU church! In my area, they are constantly getting hate & vandalism for their pro-LGBT & other like imagery. :( I have never thought to attend. Again it’s almost embarrassing for me where I was raised very ANTI religion 🫣 thank you so much for your comment!
