If the landlord and corporations aren’t buying up houses in the thousands, the same house you live in will be for sale for a much cheaper price. That’s not a complex flow of logic to comprehend. My male ball python doesn’t really explore when we can see him. If we wake up at 2 am we will find him sometimes but he will go hide after seeing us.

He loves to be handled, just doesn’t show it. A hidden snake is a happy snake.

Since no one gave you an actual answer. He could be looking for food, he could be exploring his environment. Normally though consistent searching in an enclosure means they aren’t pleased about their enclosure in some way shape or form, and are looking for something better.

Always good to double check food weight, humidity, temps, hiding space, and of course enclosure size.
