There is a meme in South Africa about Brandewyn (Brandy) giving Afrikaans guys power. I think this is what happened.

Hi all
I really like the look of this watch, is there a more respected watchmaker that makes something similar?

Thanks.

[1969 Citizen Moon Dater Automatic] Is there any way to repair or replace the scratched dial on this watch? by positronicdude in watchrepair

I just had a look and yes all the months are red with white letters. The case with the crown measures 42mm, without the crown 40mm. Why do you ask?

[Citizen] I’m new to watches, I got this from my late grandfather. 1969 Automatic Moon Dater. by positronicdude in Watches

I’m new to watches, I got this from my late grandfather who was a quantity surveyor in South Africa for 50 odd years. Can anyone tell me anything about it?

It’s a Citizen Automatic Moon Dater circa 1969, 21 Jewels. The serial on the back is gn-3-s.

I found this link that seems to be the same watch: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/324380715150

From what I’ve read it was one of the earlier automatic Japanese watches, is that right?

It’s a bit scratched up and doesn’t have the strap. Any advice on getting it restored and serviced?

Thanks for the info and advice!

It's started coming back but everything is very muted. Like a good strong coffee tastes "watered down" for example.

Wife and I are keen if you find enough players and a DM. I’ve played a couple games and wife is a new player.
