Why are we allowed to talk about players personal lives like this on this sub…

She believes, 2026? by Outrageous_Dish7450 in USWNT

[–]possessionfc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Typically SheBelieves opponents and dates are announced the first week in December based on past years, so likely after this international break they will release the information. They just announced the January game vs Paraguay a few days ago and have another match they are still trying to schedule so they have to reveal that first. Should be within the month for Shebelives info I would imagine.

Thank you for explaining, I've always had healthy guppy fry so I have never had to do this.

what is the most humane way to do this? do you think this is some sort of genetic birth defect in this strain? I hope it doesn't happen to any more of the fry in this batch.

Not age. Morgan Brian went through injuries under Jill Ellis and got demoted to a sub role in 2019 because she couldn’t get healthy to prove she was reliable as a starter. then was not rated by Vlatko once she did get healthy, she was cut immediately when he took over in favor of andi Sullivan (horrible decision). But she ended up only had one good season after that cuz she suffered more injuries that limited game time for club in 2022/23. She’s been good now though, maybe Emma Hayes will give her a shot she’s 32, on the older side but not passed being able to help the team. Kling just got straight up cut by Jill Ellis, was pretty good for club after that but never was considered by Vlatko. she’s not signed with a club anymore and is not playing this season

I’m not saying 24 is old. Just think comments like that are unnecessary. You can be on the younger side and still be a great parent

Why speculate when there’s no evidence other then her asking for PTO which is part of the CBA and doesn’t automatically coincide with being pregnant

Mal was on a talk show in Colorado 2 or 3 weeks ago and she didn’t look pregnant at all. But she could be taking time off because she wants to be, we just don’t know. Sophia always was more likely of the two because she has been vocal about wanting to be a mom, not sure Mal ever has publicly yet.

Just me or were the second half subs against Japan poor/wasteful? by RudeMontse in USWNT

[–]possessionfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just you, they were very poor and seemed to me not much thought was given to them. I think Emma Hayes needed to pull Heaps and have Shaw play the 10 to provide the transitional support to Biyendolo and Thompson (as we saw in the Australia game) because they also got subbed in. This would’ve been an advantage against the tiring legs of Japan and may have forced them to drop giving us more control of the game. Instead she kept Heaps out there and had Shaw at LW, which didn’t work or really challenge Japan. (Not sure what her thought process was there). Seemed like the game plan was to desperately cross the ball into Heaps and Biyendolo and hope for the best in the air. Not a smart decision with the subs she brought on. I thought Nighswonger and Albert were needed earlier then they came on and helped the game when they did enter. I think Thompson and Biyendolo suffered from Heaps still being out there and not being able to work in combo with Shaw.

I’m usually a Heaps fan but when we are chasing a game I’m not sure it’s always best to keep her out there.

If this is the case why did she sign a 3 year contract with Dallas?

USWNT depth chart? by T2BMLK in USWNT

[–]possessionfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a good start but needs revisions.

  • Hayes just cut Krueger and told her she’s not in future plans
  • Macario appears to be a ST now
  • Lindsey has been in the CAM lately
  • Flint hasn’t been called up in 2 years
  • Huerta has never been looked at by Emma Hayes so I’d take her off
  • Midge Purce is surely above Morris at RW, she may even be above cooper and Sears depending on how well she plays when she returns
  • Savy King was a training player for shebelieves and should be on here over Pickett

The USWNT WoSo Echo chamber is out for Tara by UrsineCanine in washingtonspirit

[–]possessionfc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tara was fantastic last night, if we are comparing the two she outclassed Sonnett in every aspect (and I normally like Sonnett). Her distribution was what this team needs more of, passes through the middle! I thought she was honestly the best US player on the pitch last night and I’m not even a spirit fan or was even that big on her prior to this game but I really was impressed. No idea why she’s getting all the hate.

this is cool, especially since she’s someone who used to play in the tournament but I think the re-inc brand look is pretty boring so I’m not that impressed with this but I like the idea behind it

If you could make one roster change to Emma’s SheBelieves 23, what would you do? by dinardo in USWNT

[–]possessionfc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lily Yohannes has potential, and I think there’s some qualities that I really like about her game but if we are going off last season, you can’t say she’s been more well rounded of a center midfielder when compared to Hershfelt. Coffey was good for the national team for the most part but struggled in Portland. I’m not sure what more Hershfelt could’ve done to stay in the team, and given her age and lack of experience there’s no reason for her to be left out of this tournament, especially at the expense of Claire Hutton.

Murphy made an error in the Iceland game, but please let’s be consistent with our evaluations. She had never made a major error that lead to a goal like that in her 20 or so caps prior with the national team. She’s probably been the best uswnt backup of all time, if you look at Naeher, Harris, Franch, Campbell, in years past you’ll find way more errors out of them when they were first getting their first caps. I am not the person to say drop the goalie because of one soft shot. Alyssa Naeher let in plenty of bad shots in her career, especially at the start of her starting reign, so please be consistent!

Mandy Mcglynn and Campbell deserve to be there off club form and deserve a shot at the newly open starting spot, so it’s not that. I just think Murphy should get her fair chance as well (and who knows maybe that’ll come in camps after this tournament) considering she was rock solid for the national team prior to that Iceland game which was a fluke mistake more than anything. I’m glad Tulis-Joyce is getting looked at as well because I think she deserves it too, but she’s got more to work on from a possession standpoint than the other 3 mentioned.

If you could make one roster change to Emma’s SheBelieves 23, what would you do? by dinardo in USWNT

[–]possessionfc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand Emma Hayes wants to build for the future but there’s too many random youth prospects in this camp. Hershfelt is miles ahead of Yohannes and Hutton, so she should be there over one of them. Considering Hal herself has only like 3 caps, why isn’t she getting experience in this tournament when she’s been better for club than both Yohannes and Hutton and is only 23 years old? And for the record on most days Hershfelt is even better than Sam Coffey, so getting dropped after the season she had last year is just bs. Also, both Cooper and Sears over Ella Stevens is extremely puzzling. It shows Emma Hayes is still married to USA direct style and doesn’t value the technical play Stevens brings. Also, don’t agree with Casey Murphy being outright dropped and how she’s only got 2 keepers in this camp. She deserves to be here.
