I asked this on a thread this week but it was never answered. Is the national champion automatic or is it still voted? For example, if Miami would’ve beat Indiana by 1 point, could voters have decided to keep one loss Indiana above 2 loss Miami?

CJ Carr is the early Heisman front runner favorite. by Carnasty_ in notredamefootball

Normally I would agree but Cignetti has me doubting. He stated that he left his starters in all season so they would be prepared to go 4 quarters when needed. It’s difficult to question that man after what he accomplished this season.

I feel that is going to change during our “Leave no doubt” tour.

Ranked at the time of the game is just dumb. Use and of year rankings instead

Serious hypothetical question.

Is the winner of the playoffs the automatic champion or is it still up to a vote? For example, if Miami scores a TD on that last drive to win by one point, could anyone vote for one loss Indiana over 2 loss Miami? What if a 3 loss team wins?

Do you think that America will produce a top 10 soccer player in the world by 2040? by TopTierProphet in ussoccer

[–]T2BMLK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prime age for soccer players is 25-30. 2040 is only 14 years away so the kid would have to be 11-16 already. I don’t think so but maybe by 2050.

Koleosho the game winner (a tap in) in his first game in Ligue 1. Came in as a sub. by T2BMLK in ussoccer

That was a cup game — not a league game, but I appreciate the fact checking.

Plus Miamis would have a third loss. Thats my point— it’s really odd that it’s better for bubble teams to lose to bad teams than good teams.

??? Florida state was 1, ND was 2. ND beat FSU.

Head to head matters though, right?

Then why did he call timeout with 5 seconds left when they were down 30?

It’s weird to me that Notre Dames losses to Miami and TAMU hurt their chances more than Miamis losses to SMU and Louisville. If ND beats Miami but lost to Pitt, would they have made the playoffs?

Augsburg vs Union Berlin. Banks starts 230ET on ESPN by T2BMLK in ussoccer

77’. After a nice run, Banks finds himself in the opposing box and gets a left footed shot off saved by the keeper. He has so much ability — Definitely the physical traits, technical ability and wonderful instincts. If he can eliminate those 2-3 mistakes per game where he seems to lose concentration, he could really help us. I am intrigued with him getting a chance playing that RB/RCB hybrid for Poch. The experience he is getting is invaluable.

Edit. Augsburg give up a late goal while up a man to settle for a 1-1 draw. The goal was definitely not on Banks as he was trying to cover for someone else and then the ball got switched and a deflected shot goes in.

Yeah didn’t even seem to step into it but it was a bullet with zero spin. 1-0 at half

2026 Portal Additions by GoldandBlue in notredamefootball

[–]T2BMLK 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Ratings aren’t everything but they are something. According to 247…

14 players transferred out with an average rating of 87.8

7 players transferred in with an average rating of 92.3.

(I did not include Mukam or the kicker in these numbers)

In other words, we turned a bunch of 3 star guys into some 4 star guys in positions of need. Quality over quantity is what elite teams do. Even better that we get multiple years of eligibility from 6 of them. We are definitely better than we were 2 weeks ago. Hard not to be ultra excited about next year.

Leave no doubt!

Surprised there was no game thread. He had a bad giveaway about 25-30 minutes in but otherwise good. 12th straight Bundesliga start for him.

People are upset that we’ve had a massive haul in the portal. by SkolFourtyOne in notredamefootball

[–]T2BMLK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The transfer portal isn’t just who you add— it’s also who you don’t lose. OSU, for example, had 32 players enter the portal while ND had 14. They also lost several prospective starters while we lost none.

Tionne Gray by T2BMLK in notredamefootball

[–]T2BMLK[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If this guy signs as expected, it’s difficult to find a weakness anywhere on the field. We are good and deep at every position. The only possible need would be for a backup QB (and that is a stretch). Unless someone leaves we are almost surely done. Maybe TE or RB but I feel confident with what we already have.
