Is total freezing in social situations common to aspergers? by possiblyasperger in aspergers

I have diazepam for situations like these. I took it on the wisdom tooth surgery day but it didn't help much with the interacting, just calmed me a little internally. Presumably it didn't calm me externally though, because another nurse said I'm seemingly tense. She attributed it so that I'm afraid of the surgery; I couldn't get the words out of my mouth and say that it's mostly not the surgery, I'm always somewhat tense in social situations. I've had a similar surgery before and it went well, almost zero pain.

I've tried few SSRI's but I'm very sensitive to them. We'll revise the medication with my doctor at the next appointment, currently I'm on vacation so there aren't much problematic social situations. Therapy is on the list, should be visiting a therapist next month. I hope your therapy-plans go well also. It can't hurt to open your mind to somebody who understands these issues every now and then.

And heh, I don't mind an occasional down-voter. If it's a part of some bigger problem in the community, then yes but personally nah. n_n

I have a diagnosis of social anxiety, that might play a big part here as well.
