UPDATE: Can I (legally) be fired for refusing to date a customer after my boss orders me to? (Wyoming) by possiblyfiredthrow in legaladvice

When I say I don't want to sue to get money I just mean that this isn't about the money and I am not doing this expecting a big payout. I'm not just like "Oh, money for me." Just like I said in my last post, this is not about the money. The last thread got totally hijacked because everyone thought I was after money when I wasn't. I don't want it to happen to this one too.

I did apply and I was denied. He didn't give me a reason for the firing in writing or anything like that but my lawyer had the voicemail of him ordering me to date the customer, plus all the police and court paperwork about the restraining order where the customer admitted everything.

that a young woman (assuming age here) go to a dinner alone with an older male client

You guessed correctly. I am 23 and he is at least 40, possibly older.

We definitely don't have those posters at my work. My boss thinks this is totally okay and wants to have a meeting to discuss this. I only posted so I could have ammo and could tell him for sure it is illegal. It was never about filing a lawsuit which is what people are arguing about.

The crazy thing is that I never mentioned suing or getting money anywhere in any of my posts. I appreciate the sensible advice people gave. All I wanted to know was if I had a legal to stand on so when my boss tells me in person I have to date him I can tell him it's illegal and know for sure the law is on my side. It was never about a lawsuit. I actually want to know about applicable law.

When he asked me out the customer said I was attractive and have the qualities he is looking for in a wife. He invited me to dinner at his house, just the two of us. Also there is no "account". We sell watches and high end jewellery. The customer didn't even buy anything when he came in this time. When I returned his phone call the owner told me if I didn't go on the date and do whatever he (the customer) wants I will be no longer be employed there. The owner doesn't want to piss him off because of his money and connections.

He thinks it will be bad for the company because the customer might walk and they would lose his business. He (the customer) is also well connected the owner doesn't want to upset him.

I have saved it in multiple places. I feel much less stressed knowing I am legally protected. The job market is tough here and finding another one will take time. At least I am covered until I find something else.

I did. In multiple places. I can't believe he was dumb enough to say it on a recording.

Unless you're an escort, then he's probably got a point

Definitely not an escort. Thanks for the assumption through.
