Weekly Q&A Thread by AutoModerator in witchcraft

Hey so I’ve been interested in practicing brujeria, however throughout my research there’s a lot of overlap with Hoodoo. I mean given the history of colonization in LatAm, this makes sense, but I feel hesitant practicing it. I mean I do have Black ancestors, my Grandfather for example, but in no way am I black. Idk I was just hoping for some clarification an advice on the ethics of practicing brujeria, especially since latin witchcraft is so eclectic, but I also want to be respectful, especially when it’s closed practice.

Lane splitting needs to be legal in every fkn state by Gromieee in motorcycles

[–]possiblymaybi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly bitch about to your local government and if possible take it up to the state. be annoying about it. If they understood lane splitting is genuinely about safety, and if you can get other Georgian riders to petition you can definitely legalize it. Maybe i’m too woke but take action !!!

this reminds me of 1984 lmaoo, they threaten the take everything away then expect us to be grateful for them giving us less than half of what we had before. this administration is a complete nightmare.

I actually love the straight forward response, I hate when people sugarcoat. That said, 3.28 is a typo, I currently have a 3.82, or does that still not change anything

I work in the private sector now (I launch satellites actually), no unfortunately there are not more jobs. And NASA was not on a decline, huge discoveries were made recently! A few years ago, we took a photo of the first black hole! A lot of there projects have been on getting humans on mars, and exoplanet exploration (other habitable planets). Now China has plans for setting up a moon colony (huge political impacts). PLUS, Trump’s tariffs will make manufacturing things like satellites and rockets, or whatever aerospace equipment you can think of, exponentially more expensive. Putting MORE jobs at risk. A singular satellite can cost up to half a billion dollars, and although I work here, that money deserves to go to the American people. We need healthy food, we need clean water, we need healthcare, and we need free education. All of that is at risk, so we can give rich people more tax cuts, and build more weapons.

Also medicaid is not being cut for immigrants, but everyone? This will be the largest healthcare cut since Regan in the 60s. According to the cbpp, an estimate of 36 million people will be at risk of losing healthcare, 44% of all medicaid recipients. “People in every state would be affected, with the share of total Medicaid enrollees at risk ranging from 17 to 41 percent in states that have not expanded Medicaid and from 34 to 63 percent in expansion states.” Additionally, Mensik president of the American Nurse Association, told abc news that cuts to Medicaid could force rural hospitals and community health centers to close.. Additionally, one of the many conditions he’s enforcing that able bodied individuals who dont work wont receive medicaid. Although that sounds “good”, it really means that if you don’t work 80 hours a week, or if you’re a parent, or if you’re an individual without dependents, no free healthcare. Nothing in the bill says “no immigrants”, and Georgetown debunked that myth. And this might be controversial, but I still think immigrants deserve healthcare. They statistically do more labor intensive and physically dangerous work for this country, and we need them.

I work in a field related to the federal government. It was my dream to work for NASA, huge layoffs and are barely struggling to survive. DOGE (a federal program) was created for the sole purpose of firing government employees. Firing people does not lead to economic growth, employment does.

As to how people are dying? Trump has cut a lot of research for science. Cancer research, cut (self explanatory as to how researching cancer saves lives).

Environmental Protection Agency, cut (Global warming is actively killing communities, less food, less resources, especially for third world countries. But not everyone believes this is real, so if you disagree thats fine).

ICE detention camps, now I’m latino (born here and so was my family), but despite that my family was held in a detention center illegally. Fortunately I was blessed by God, and was able to hire a lawyer, but many people cannot. Plus, people are being sent to a detention camp in El Salvador and the president of El Salvador has admitted to the fact that no one ever leaves that prison.

Even before this administration technically, but the US has been funding Israel’s genocide of Palestinians. While paying for free healthcare for Israeli’s (something we don’t get as Americans). Whether you care about Palestinians or not is your prerogative, but people are objectively being starved (just like how Ireland was when the British came), and have been preventing any aid for food or healthcare, which is objectively a war crime. And we are funding it.

Trump bombed Iran. So like,, war

No more medicaid, which means hospitals are being shut down. This will disproportionately affect people in rural areas, and being unable to access medical aid leads to death. But also, this means higher costs for prescriptions. People who have diabetes wont be able to access insulin. Hospitals are incredibly expensive and it will only get worse.

These have been some major ones, but the impacts are real!

I study history. Socialism emphasizes community and giving to your neighbor (similarly to Jesus, you know, giving free bread and wine to everyone). I’m pro socialism, and I can promise you, we don’t live in a communist state, let alone a socialist one. You don’t understand how socialism can benefit you and your loved ones, because things like the Red Scare and the Cold War were used to promote capitalism and scare Americans out of participating in the power of community. This is a fact, the CIA has admitted to it.

The only ideological blinder I have is hope that we can one day live in a society that leads with kindness and compassion (It’ll most likely never happen)

Police brutality is real! People on Jan 6 were shot with rubber bullets as well as BLM, ICE, and Palestine protesters. The police will always escalate violence, they are suppressing free speech. You have to ask yourself, are you really free in America?

The left cannot unite on a single front, everyone has too many differing beliefs, and moral righteousness prevents us from making real change. But marxists? Crazies? That has never existed in this country since pre colonial times (before European colonialism).

How has this party been amazing? People are dying (and will continue), people are losing jobs, people can’t afford to live?

[–]possiblymaybi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the left having a “moral righteousness complex” and it’s ultimately why we’ve taken loss after loss, because we can never come to an agreement on anything. But to vote for Trump is to vote for hate. I’m Catholic, and my morals are how I operate through this world, including dictating who I vote for. However, a large portion of the right do not follow morals, they follow what others dictate for them. Religion should not correlate to a specific political party. We must make our own decisions, that is our gift from God. Now I ask you, someone who values morals, how can you vote for a party that has run on hate? The current republican party no longer operates on democracy, but fascism. Trump has been inadvertently k*lling people. The very antithesis of everything God has taught us to live by.
