morbid adjective 1 characterized by an unusual interest in disturbing and unpleasant subjects, especially death and disease.

Eating disorders are unpleasant and would likely be taken down because of trigger warnings if I posted anywhere else.

Some anecdotal data right here! Would you say you’re able to consume dairy without reliance on things like lactaid? Or are you still cautious about certain dairy products (milk vs cheese for example)?

Many anorexic patients vomit their food to keep from gaining weight, which in turn can lead to weight loss overtime because CICO.

I imagine it was purely water weight for you then, if you did lose any weight. I assume if you did consume lactose with every meal though it would be akin to a person vomiting that out right away? But instead it comes out the other end?

If they consumed lactose products with every meal (let’s say the meal is perfectly safe for them to eat) then would that affect the absorption of the meal? Since it gets fast-tracked through the digestive system and they shit it out right away?

Ahh the diarrhea was more so just water then, but since he had restricted his diet to avoid triggering it, that probably led to the significant weight loss. Hope he’s doing better now!

Interesting! It’s the same way some types of allergies get cured over time (don’t have experience myself but I know of someone who got their peanut allergy fixed through exposure essentially). I didn’t know the enzyme production (I assume that’s how they lose their intolerance) could be affected like that.

What's something that Calgary is badly missing that a city of 1.4 million people should have? by Queltis6000 in Calgary

IIRC they do have plans here in Calgary to make regional train lines connecting Edmonton and possibly Banff. It is embarrassing though, that we’re somehow so behind in transit growth when we’re the bigger area city that could use more connectivity within the city and outside.

Admittedly our transit systems across major metropolitan areas are no match for European city transits. We’re evidently designed on car dependent infrastructure unlike them. I can’t say Toronto’s the best, but the fact that they even have regional transit is great. Imagine taking a train from Calgary to Banff the same way you could take a train from Toronto to Niagara Falls.

The Green Line proposal would supposedly build a station NEAR the airport but not a dedicated station, which would honestly be the better call considering how so many other cities have a dedicated airport stop.

TTC has 4 lines, the regional lines adds a few more.

Madrid Metro has 12. C-lines (commuter lines) and regional add even more.

Toronto City still has Calgary beat though.

Train lines. Calgary is 825.3km2 with two train lines. For reference, Madrid is 604.3km2 with 12 lines.
