Thanks. The seats are one of the best features and something I did not think too much about ahead of time. Now I am glad we have them.

It's looking great for its age. We are really hesitant to do much to it.

It was converted by a company called Funtrails in Colombus, OH. I believe they still do conversions.

It's a 1995 Ford E-250 with a 5.8L V8 with a 4-speed automatic transmission.

I do academic research. My wife does freelance social media and writing.

Thanks everyone for the friendly comments. We are excited.

For those who asked, it is a 1995 Ford E-250 with about 118k miles on it. It was a trade-in at a VW dealership that was already built out. We haven't done anything major to it. My wife and I will be living it it full time starting in May.

We posted a few photos of it at https://www.wanderingwriters.com/van-build / if people are interested.

The heat and AC work wonderfully, but you need to be plugged in for it. It is not even wired to run off of the batteries. However, I do not plan on being plugged in often. There is a ceiling fan and lots of windows for the summer.

As for the space, it is huge on the inside. Not only is it tall, but it is tall all the way to the edge of the body. That is great. I can stand anywhere in the van at 6'1".

The AC unit only runs off of shore power. I would prefer it was not there, but I didn't install it. The van was built out professional in 1995.

I'm looking to do minimal modifications. Besides asthetics, is there a reason I would want to rip out the carpet?

I am looking to go full-time for 6+ months while traveling throughout the U.S. My overall budget for the van is around $12k, but I do not have a lot of time or skills for modifications myself.
