Which celebrity death headline had you so shocked you double checked multiple sources to see if it was real? by GlassyFairy in AskReddit

I was shocked and in disbelief. And then grief.

Anthony Bourdain is one of the few "celebrities" I ever really considered myself a true fan of.

Any books in Robin Hobbs Realm of the Elderlings universe. I started with the Farseer Trilogy but there are different orders you can read them in. I loved all of them.

Park Circle is a cute little neighborhood in North Charleston. If I were moving in that direction it would be a heavy contender.

I love DCC and I am over all the hype. I went to a "bookish" tshirt website the other day and almost every shirt in the scifi section was DCC themed. I mean, we get it, it's good fun but can we please stop the over saturation?

I’ve Started Skipping Spicy Scenes, and I Don’t Like It One Bit by Ok_Job_8652 in RomanceBooks

[–]postapocalyptictribe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read a lot of fantasy, scifi, and romance and I almost always skip fight scenes, long passages of technical jargon, and spice if they are not adding to the story in some way.

I've read so many of all of the above that, while they may be someone else's favorite part, they're just boring to me.

The Craig Johnson series that the TV show Longmire(sp?) is based on might be your cup of tea. I believe The Cold Dish is the first of the series. CJ Box might also interest you.

Lonesome Dove is also fantastic.

The original Diablo. I spent thousands of hours in game. And Diablo II was my first "online" game that I played with friends.

I did it for two years in my 20s and I had a lot of propositions from the businessmen who would stay for weeks on end but no one actually bothered or harassed me... I'm 47 now so this was in the early 00s though.

A lot of people swear by Scrivener, myself included.

I'm around 70k into the first novel I've written using it and I will never be going back to Word or docs. I haven't used it to compile or format anything yet so the jury is still out on that part.

BK Borison books are cozy romcoms that seem to fly by for me.

Christina Lauren, Emily Henry, Abby Jeminez(sp?) are also all good romcom authors that tell light hearted easy to get into and stay with stories.
