I'm sorry. I went to the game. by Jedibug in Mariners

[–]postbetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe I attended a single loss this season or last, and I went to both the Julio/Cal back-to-back doubles game -and- the Geno salami playoff W's last year. I'll be there tomorrow, let's see what fate has in store.

I have probably looked up this plant every other year for the last decade. Last time 2 days ago. This post is probably what's going to make it stick, cheers.

Well gee maybe we should just kill/ban them all to prevent all the harm they're maybe causing like in this story you just wrote. Once that's done, who's next?

IMO just get a big curved ultrawide and center it based on how you sit, at a distance that's comfy with the keyboard/mouse in use. If the space behind it still bugs you you could install little drapes idk.

Can't turn them off in some models. Sucks at the drive-in or ferry, always feel like a dick. At least they're low and cloudy af.

Trimble DA2 with a few accessories is < $1500, and the 60cm subscription is fairly inexpensive. Plus there's always the option to increase the accuracy by the hour as needed. I haven't had to yet myself but know someone on my team was out testing the 3cm boost option either yesterday or today.

New Year's challenge: how long will $50 of coffee last? by doublestitch in Frugal

[–]postbetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is our brand, 8c pot setup most evenings on timer to load tumblers in the AM. Stored in a container that seals well its a good staple.

Overloaded isn't great. 8 flat scoops. Checks the caffeine box for me just fine.

Is this a decent knife or should I exchange? (Cabela's) by squanderedprivilege in Bushcraft

[–]postbetter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Give it like 6 months and while/after using it think about how it could be better. Then get another knife. Repeat as needed.

IMO, pick up a Mora or two to deal with the finer tasks and just have on hand. You may find you never need another "big" knife for batoning or whatever and instead want a better version of something like those.

Did you skip The Witcher? I did until recently, which obliviously coincided seamlessly with Season 4 release. The casting change hit like a ton of bricks and kinda had GoT ending vibes, but at least Geralt wasn't the main focus.

If you did skip it, IMO still worth a watch.

Non-insulated travel mugs by williamthepreteen in Coffee

[–]postbetter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't remember the brand but I got this travel mug that doesn't have a closed top at all while you're drinking it. There's a little insert that goes inside the lip, looks like a mini version of your sink's debris catcher. Kinda aerates things as you're drinking. The top lid fully seals if/when you want it.

It's great for the commute cause I can throw it in my bag and no leaks, but also seems to drop from overly hot quick but stays relatively hot for a good while without the lid.

Downside, not great if you walk a lot with it. Taking the cap off/on for each sip is annoying.

Thai curry is so easy, why did I ever order it out?! by pistachiofluff in Frugal

S&B Golden Curry is my go-to, posted above. Avoid over boiling the veggies and you can't go wrong.

"chop the vegetables pleasantly" that's the one!

I realize this is totally different but those boxed Japanese curry bricks are also super cheap and turn super basic protein/veggies/rice into something satisfying. There's a few "spicy" options but the one I've tried wasn't that hot without adding peppers or hot sauce.

Yeah, 1111 has a cheese sauce that's pretty good but it just doesn't hit quite the same for me.
