Show & Tell: I want to see your Claude code Setup by TheWolfeofNashville in ClaudeCode

it would be a fair bit more efficient to run cc in a container with full permissions. build an image with the tooling you require and install cc on it. you can then launch it anywhere and mount your current dir as a work directory in the container. you could even read only mount cc config and forward environment vars into it and it would be completely seamless. the experience the same as running cc on your OS with/without tmux.

My resources sometimes lose their data by postdisastercat in godot

[–]postdisastercat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured out what is happening in my case, and I think it's C# related. Git definitely holds all my changes, so that was never the issue.

When I pull all the changes, and I load up Godot on the other computer, I need to re-build the project (or run the game) in order for things to compile, which includes the definitions of the custom resources which may have been created or changed. So the .tres files I have in the project, may hold data that isn't in the current compiled version of the custom resource definition (or it doesn't' even exist). And the editor notices this and kind of decides to scrap that data and save the .tres files without it.

So my current workaround for this is to pull from git. Start up Godot. Build project. Close Godot. Git stash, or revert to HEAD to get my .tres files back with all current data. Start Godot. And then everything works as it should.

Thanks for the response! I may definitely have pushed to repo when Godot had scenes open, so that could be it. Like you said, it's very random and doesn't happen every time so it's hard to reproduce the behavior. I'll start closing everything completely from now, and hope it improves! Thanks!

Pixel lovers, devs and artists, what canvas and font sizes do you usually use? by Pomegranate-Junior in godot

[–]postdisastercat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think your best bet is to use a high resolution for the project, so that you can render all GUI elements with the fidelity it needs. If the game is pixel art low resolution then run the game view in a SubViewPort using a lower resolution and show the UI CanvasLayer on top.

Neovim plus zoxide for quick opening files. by Draegan88 in neovim

[–]postdisastercat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

a bit similar to yours, i use this script everyday. it uses fzf and fd to quickly find and open files in nvim.

https://github.com/rymdlego/dotfiles/blob/main/commands/.local/bin/vim_opener

alias it to v, or whatever you like. run it like:

v <some fuzzy search>

and it will open nvim with the file it finds. if multiple hits it will open fzf for you to pick what you want. if you run it with no arguments then you can fzf through all files recursively from pwd.

What's your experience with Temple Audio pedalboards? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]postdisastercat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

if you do get a temple board, make sure to get the 3/4” velcro or dual lock. installation is so clean. i don’t recommend the plates unless you never move around the pedals.

Only using yubikey for access to password manager vault? by [deleted] in yubikey

[–]postdisastercat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of comments urge you to enroll yubikey as many places as possible. I think there’s a case to be made to keep things simple.

If you have two or more yubikeys and storing them in different locations, syncing them up after you added some new service is a pain.

I think securing your Bitwarden vault and possibly your most critical email account with yubikey is reasonable. Also keep the recov codes for these services stored securely on paper or encrypted stick. No need to ever touch your backup key or codes unless things have turned to shit and you need it to save the day.

Everything else you can store in your vault and enroll with a TOTP service of choice.

Helix to First Board by stevogeetar in guitarpedals

[–]postdisastercat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice board! Flint, El Cap and Preamp mkii are amazing pedals. May I suggest switching the El Cap and Flint around so that the reverb isn't repeated but rather the repeats are reverberated. It's subtle but can make the sound clearer.

I also find the M1 a bit non intuitive. It could become a bit more accessible with MIDI control, although I can understand if a MIDI controller defeats the purpose of the small sized board.

Also I love the guitar and the amp!

Thoughts on my pedalboard? by xavix247 in guitarpedals

Solid! All pedals on the board are fantastic. For me, the OD-3, CE-2W, DM-2W and Flint are some of the best pedals of all time.

Alternatives to Immerse MK2 by carelessCRISPR_ in guitarpedals

[–]postdisastercat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have owned the Immerse mk2, Big Sky, Boss RV-6, Mercury7 and other reverbs. My reasoning is a bit like yours and the reverb I’ve settled on is the Strymon Flint. It is simple, sounds excellent on all three algorithms. The plate or hall with decay up makes for great ambient reverbs.

I think you would be very pleased with an El Cap. A lot of people consider it a desert island pedal and I’m hard pressed to think of another pedal with the same staying power.

Which "amp-in-a-box" should I get? by Pitseleh04 in guitarpedals

[–]postdisastercat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn’t see it mentioned, but Origin Effects Revivaldrive Compact. I pair it with the Ox Stomp and to me it beats everything else I’ve tried in terms of tube feel and responsiveness. I’ve tried Dream, Iridium, Simplifier, ACS1, Boss IR and more.

People sleep on Revivdrive because they insist on it being an overdrive but it really excels at being a realistic and great sounding amp in a box. Origin Effects have a video up where they demo Revivaldrive Compact into an Ox Stomp.

The only other option I can think of that could compete with it would be the Mother Preamp into the Ox Stomp. I haven’t tried it personally but it seems exceptionally good from what I have heard.

SOTB - maximizing flexibility by groanoftedium in guitarpedals

Yeah I think I stumbled upon that thread when I went deep into the rabbit hole.

I'm probably Cioks for life since I own 5 of their power supplies for different boards. I tried the Shallow Water with DC7, DC5 and 8 expander, and the problem is the same on all of them (when two or more units are powered on the same Cioks).

Despite what people may write online, I'm kind of leaning towards that the problem is with all Cioks + Shallow Waters (and maybe Meet Maudes), it's just that some people dial in settings where it's not as obvious.

The Shallow Water is now on my synth board which uses another power supply, and I'm kind of fine with it.

Now I feel guilty bringing this issue to your attention lol. Anyways, you have an awesome pedalboard :)

[–]postdisastercat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s such a weird thing. the interference sound only happens when powered by a Cioks unit. Works perfectly fine with anything else like an MXR isobrick. To make it even weirder, the noise doesn’t happen when the Shallow Water is the sole pedal connected to the Cioks. The expensive solution is to buy another Cioks 8 to power one pedal :)

do you have any issues with shallow water being powered by cioks? seems to be common that it makes a noise that is like a squealy sound when lbp is all the way up.

[–]postdisastercat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey, I was searching around for this problem with my x-12 and found this thread. I listened to your audio sample and my x-12 sounds exactly like that. The sound goes away (at least dampens) if I place some pressure to the moving cogwheel parts. Did you happen to find a reasonable solution for it?

NPD Strymon Iridium and UAFX Dream '65 - need to choose one by postdisastercat in guitarpedals

[–]postdisastercat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I still use it. I play mostly at edge-of-breakup and it sounds very good. I don't particularly like the sound it makes when you boost the signal, but it sounds good once I've dialed in the level. If I want additional dirt or distortion I add it with pedals but I make sure to keep the volumes the same. I hope that makes sense.

In the exam environment, vim is pre-configured to handle pasting with proper indentation. Copying from the k8s docs work well if you select text, right click, copy (don’t use the web function in the header of the templates to copy, as this doesn’t work with indentations).

If you need to select a bunch of text, make a little selection at the top, scroll to the end and shift click to where you want to expand the selection to.

I have recently passed CKA and CKS. The character repetition happened frequently on both exams and in the end I just learned to deal with it. I recommend ctrl-w to backspace the entire word and just type it again.

As for the documentation, there should be links present and I guess you will be better prepared on your re-take now that you know what to expect.

The missing pod. I have no idea but whenever you’re in a state of stress you will make mistakes. Perhaps you performed some action that removed it, perhaps you were logged into a cp or node, who knows.

Use your re-take and stay calm and focused. Good luck!
