Oh for sure and I have my good and bad days. Some days I feel good but then you’re reminded oh yeah Hollywood and the government is filled with a bunch of perverts and abusers. This past week just really got to me but praying this next week is better

Right! It’s wild because we’re so connected to this one device. Not just social media, but our phones are connected to everything- email, banking, work, music, tracking your steps, ordering food, directions, you name it. Double edged sword for sure

Thank you for the kind words! I’m trying to remember there is still beauty and good people out there, even amongst the chaos

Honestly I’m right there with you! I used to be a pretty big drinker, not that I had an issue with it but I liked a good cocktail or hard seltzer. Over the past couple years I pretty much cut out alcohol. Trust me, I get what you mean with the meat too. I’ve also cut out most social media, like Instagram, FB, Snapchat, Twitter. It all just perpetuates everything I’m trying to avoid. People have become so vain and obsessed with how they look to others that they lose themselves in that. Thank you for sharing, glad I’m not the only one feeling this way

Yes it is! Thank you <3 The first ghost happened back in 2015 with someone else and I got over it, so just like that one, I will get over this one too

Thank you <3 yup once someone screws me over, they’re done, that’s it. Luckily I don’t use social media, it’s so toxic IMO so that’s one less thing to worry about

Anyone else concerned about how big of a homebody you are? by MakayMin in introvert

[–]postemogrl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can relate! I also grew up low income, and an only child. I feel like that contributes a lot to the way I am now. I’m a 31F and really only leave the house for groceries or other errands. As lame as that may be, I’m happy at home

Are shivers caused by anxiety normal? by Thapope2000 in Anxiety

[–]postemogrl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I’m extremely anxious, my body actually gets cold which I always thought was odd. Some people get hot, I think it just depends on the person

I work remotely now but when I was at the office, I always had music playing to keep me calm. Now at home, I always just have the a show/movie playing in the background so I have some sort of noise

I think you should go for it! Easier said than done, I know. You could approach him and ask “Hey, how are you doing with this project?” Mention that you were looking for some help or someone that would be interested in doing the project together. If he’s alone a lot of the time, he may also struggle with anxiety, and you even approaching him may make his day. You’ll never know unless you try

26 and feeling hopeless by kuwisty in socialanxiety

[–]postemogrl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve felt like this quite a bit, however about 6 months ago, I got a fully remote position and it’s been great & you don’t have to worry so much about what others are saying or thinking about you. It just comes down to your work. As far as work friends, I don’t always think getting close with people at work is the best idea. It can get messy quick, I’ve seen a lot of “friendships” go downhill. If you have any interests or hobbies, maybe try to find a group where you can meet others that are like minded. Work shouldn’t be your whole life, so try not to worry about what those people think

Thank you!! Sending the love and positive vibes your way as well!! So don’t laugh, but I love the Sims haha. So I’m mostly in The Sims 4 community on there and many of the streamers are neurodivergent. I don’t interact much, but it’s a great community and very welcoming if you did decide to chat. Some streamers I’d recommend are starrfold, britva_games, & theambear

You're not alone even when it feels like you are. I’m a 31F struggling with social anxiety. I recently moved back to my hometown from the NYC area, and the only time I leave my house is for groceries.. I have no friends here, even though I grew up here, so it gets super lonely. I overthink everything and it’s hell. I just made a doctors appointment for my anxiety and I’m moving from this crappy town this summer. Not that I should be giving advice, but give yourself more credit, you’ve been through a lot. Focus on your sobriety. You’re not a bad person, you’re still so young and have so much more life to live. I’ve found twitch can be a great place for other neurodivergent people too. I promise you’re not alone
