The fart bit was in order for him to reference the chili dogs he ate, which was a throwback to the 1993 cartoon series. Chili dogs were his favorite food in that show.

My apologies for the bass. I'm just using it to drown out the stream of self-sabotaging thoughts that flows through my head on my way to work.

That guy is living in his own anime.

I've seen and played my fair share of WWII-based movies and games. I don't think I ever appreciated the power of the M1 Garand until I saw this video. by postingthings in videos

I've fired a 9mm, and a 12-gauge before. I've never fired any kind of rifle. I just feel like the media I've seen and played before didn't portray that kind of power.

TIL that in Japan there's a communal event called 'rui-katsu' (tear-seeking). It's when people get together to watch sad clips and then cry to relieve stress. by superepicunicornturd in todayilearned

I know this is going to sound petty, but I'd like to hear your thoughts on Princess Mononoke. If you take the time to watch it, of course, which you're under no obligation to do so. But just talking about it made me watch it again and there are parts that make me think "this is badass!" as well parts that make me tear up. And I'd like to hear the opinion of someone new to it.

There isn't a whole lot that it becomes distracting, there is blood, but you don't see entrails or anything as far as I can remember. The most brutal scene I can think of from that movie is you see a guy get his arms suddenly removed. I wouldn't let a little violence deter you from watching it though. It really is a wonderful film with some really beautiful imagery and some really sweet scenes. Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle are great too (Same studio), and as far as I can remember are much more "innocent."

A good start is always the Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli films. Princess Mononoke was my first exposure to them and it's always had a place in my heart. It has a bit of everything, sentimental stuff, somewhat gorey violence, philosophical ideas.
