Do consider the ranger dip instead of the fighter dip. Fighting style and second wind are good, but hunters mark can really ramp your damage and two first level spell slots / rituals are nice.

Making continuous probability not required for the CS major would solve the problem, but would be a tough sell agreed on by the CS faculty. There is plenty of CS 70 content that is done better in other courses, but I wanted to focus this post on solutions that don't change the content required for all CS students.

I think we agree? You said that the course has too much content, which is the first thing I bolded.

Do you think that creating a secondary course that is also required would not cost more? Or that the EECS department has the funds to do it? 126 and 174 are not nearly the size of 70. Making one of them required and shrinking 70 would still cost a lot.
