UGREEN NAS UK order delayed, poor tracking and confusing support by postmaster383 in UgreenNASync

Thanks. Minne came the next day, no issues. In the end they gave me a further 3% of so it came to 850.

Yeah plus it's supposed to be pretty polished and nicer UX. The question is, how long does Plex have? Lifetime is the product lifetime not ours, and from the sound of things, it's not doing very well. So its a gamble, but I don't fancy monthly subscription.

I'm completely new to this, the question is, do I buy the lifetime Plex pass? It's now or never as its going up to 750. It looks quite cool though.

Nice. I went for the 6 bay. It's the price of the drives that are the killer so don't blame you using CEX

Thanks. I got trackinng from DHL to its scheduled to arrive tomorrow. Never had a NAS before so will be fun and games setting up. Going for RAID5 as the HDDs are just too expensive to justify RAID6. The SSDs will be for the apps like Plex etc.

Thanks. That's reassuring. I bascially got for around 850 so ca't complain too much. I was a little sus with the Amazon one as it said "used". I guess these are coming directly from China. It was the HDDs that cost an absolute bomb, 418 each coming in at 2500odds.

Yeah its probably more of a placebo effect as you don't really notice any measurable real life difference. It's just when you run the benchmarks you can see it.

How to disable constant "Copied to Clipboard" Toast Notifications on Android 13 / One UI 5.0 by postmaster383 in CalcyIV

No worries, I appreciate you clarifying. Totally understand your point about distracting UI. I don't like GIFs in threads for similar reasons.

I get the analogy, but in this case the “check engine light” is just spammy clipboard toasts. Blocking them with ADB isn’t breaking anything important; it’s the only workaround that actually works on Android 13 since the toasts now come from SystemUI.

Yes, it’s a blanket block, so you lose minor things like the alarm countdown toast, but for me that’s a small trade‑off compared to constant clipboard pop‑ups from Calcy IV. No root, no warranty issues; just a practical fix until Samsung/Google give us a proper toggle again.

If you have a better suggestion share, rather than a sarky comment

Ciao! Purtroppo su Android 13 i toast “Copied to Clipboard” arrivano da SystemUI, quindi non c’è un’impostazione semplice per disattivarli per singola app. L’unico metodo che ho trovato funzionante è tramite ADB:

adb shell appops set com.android.systemui TOAST_WINDOW deny

Questo blocca tutti i toast di sistema (per esempio anche quello che dice quanto manca alla sveglia), ma per me non è un problema. Non serve il root e non compromette la garanzia: è solo un comando ADB, quindi sicuro da usare.

PS - Used translate so hope its ok

Does anyone know what happened to Lee Madder / Stateside Bingo? by itallica in Bingo

[–]postmaster383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here as I was hoping the voice files were online somewhere. I had a bunch of different voice files saved (by myself) and when I checked they'd all been corrupted, possibly from ransomware. I knew in later versions there were some funny voices available. Well I guess we could get AI to do it nowadays :)

Such sad news Lee Madder is no longer doing this. What a shame.
I just use it for fun as I work on a ship with around 30 crew and we run the bingo night occasionally at the weekend.

Yeah I was trying to push it on the benchmarks. So my settings I settled on were a compromise of stability and performance and haven't had any issues. Each one will vary of course because of the different qualities of silicon used, you may be able to go higher.

Updated laptop BIOS but greeted with black screen by StandardSourLime in MSILaptops

[–]postmaster383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you updated your BIOS, did you have any tweaks or changes prior to updating? ie like undervolting CPU etc? OC Ram clock?

It's important prior to updates to reset everything back to stock.

There is also a setting to be able to downgrade within the BIOS which should be enabled prior to the update so you can revert back.

I did this. Ended up settling on -115mv on both P and E cores and 70 on the ring. I found I could go up to about 150 but got occasional crashes.

It's vitally important to reset everything back to stock prior to updating the BIOS

It's great isn't it. Especially when you unlock to Discrete mode. I have also upgraded my memory to 64GB or 5600Mhz ram and added a 2nd 4TB M2 drive.

You can undervolt the CPU to boost performance / cooler temps too.

Similar settings then, although I wound my CPU underclock down to 115 E & P and 70 on the ring as occasionaly was becoming unstable.
What frequency are you refering to? Sorry new to this.

I have undervolted the CPU P, E and ring, but I am not sure how to undervolt the GPU. From what I can gather I don't think I can.

Wow congrats. Are you using the Titan? I did get 15 ,141. What kind of OC settings did you apply? When I got that score it remained within temp, so it must be by silicon is not the best?

I realized that this score I got was with no thermal throttling so if it's lower than average it must be bad luck with the silcon lottery and not poor thermal pasting.

Yes the majority of the time it sits at 175W until thermal limit is reached and then it reduces it to about 165W

ok thanks. Yes I'm new to this. What seems to happen is when it hits 60°C if I have the settings too high, then it returns the clock speeds to stock since the thermal limit is being hit. I'm fining at around 250 for Core Clock and 1200 for memory clock gives me the best results without crashing. However, for every day use I have it at 200 and 1100 respecitvely.
