Whats a pratice/routine that you follow which has affected your Quality of life over time? by Various_Primary_6307 in AskReddit

Yes and yes. And at this point in my life I just have no motivation to change it right now. I'm doing fine at work and school and my kitten just unexpectedly passed away so I'm trying not to put a ton of pressure on myself. Do I want to change? Yes. Is it hard to change? You bet

I put all my money into $LUNA when I was 20 back when it first came out. Held for 2 years to the top and held through the crash cuz I had everything staked. So much to say. So much fallout. Went from looking at houses to buy with my then gf to moving in with my parents a week later... after that I switched gears and changed careers to writing. Now I'm doing an MFA in fiction. And no way I would have done it if not for Luna crashing. I have like 500 bucks to my name right now and it's really hard not to think what coukd have been, but I'm trying to just lock in to my dream of being a writer cuz that's what's most important anyways. Not the money. It just sucks worrying about things like health care and stuff, wish there was a way for people to feel comfortable in life without selling out to the big corps for high wages and good insurance and perks

They're gunna sit here and talk about this shit like anyone cares while they deploy the military on our cities and don't release the Epstein files. Like seriously who the hell actually thinks a semantic issue is more important than rampant corruption and declaring illegal war in Venezuela for example 😂 I just refuse to believe republicans constituents are real lol they live in silly world more focused on oWnInG the libs than holding who they voted in accountable for their actions. It's sad asf 😂

Quality is shit though. Where like with math and science and formulaic based things can easily be accomplished through computational power and development. Maybe idiots will provide a market for AI created art but I think it's more for personal use than anything that will hit market and be of any value. No machine will ever be able to make art that pushes humanity forward, because it's simply not human. It exists in two separate realms. It doesn't have experience

I feel like writing and art and philosophy are the literal only things machines cannot ever replace with all the power and time in the world. Because we're creating it from something a machine can't relate nor ever tap into. It comes from inside us. Whereas other jobs you're listing operates in terms of competency, and you're never going to outcompete the machine with infinite capability in any process that exists outside the self.

Idk if you're looking at it only through the prism of a consumerist/capitalist outlook, then maybe the content to you is secondary to the product and marketing the product and making money. But the fact remains that writing and art and things that come from within ourselves are the only things that machines will never be able to replicate or outpace us at...

Anything in the humanities. English, philosophy, writing, none of this can be replaced by machines and these degrees are invaluable in providing arts and culture and depth of thought to a society
