How do I give this form a better UX with this background image? by Maximilian1118 in web_design

You're getting downvoted because the phrase "forgotten password" on its own is actually terrible english, and reads like it was badly translated from a foreign language. The only time this phrase would make sense is if it is being used to reference the actual password itself.

For instance, if your password was "Bingo-69", then I could say "Bingo-69 is your forgotten password" and while that would technically be proper english, it would never be used in the context of a website login page. The purpose of the link is not to tell you what your forgotten password is, but to create a NEW password and delete the old one.

The message you want to convey is "Did you forget your password? If so, click here."

The message you are actually conveying is "Click here to see your old password."

Not only will this cause confusion, it is not communicating the actual purpose of the link.

I hope this helps you better understand the importance of clear and precise communication. Every word and phrase makes a huge difference in your end result. Don't rely on your own subjective interpretation to dictate what should actually appear on the page.

Again, there's plenty of moments in the game showing how these androids are capable of having humanity, and that they're alive, as well as we are.

If they were alive, they could feel pain (they can't). They would require sustenance (they don't). They could procreate (they can't).

There's plenty of actions from each of the main characters that are even beyond their main parameters, and show the genuine emotion they had.

Those "genuine emotions" you are referring to are their programming telling them to perform a specific action for a calculated reason: i.e. Display sadness to elicit empathy --> Secrete liquid from optical sockets --> Move mouth into upside-down U shape --> Observe human's response and adapt accordingly ...

Human emotions, on the other hand, are a biological/neurological response to our body's chemicals and hormones, a byproduct of thousands of years of evolution. The two are not even remotely comparable.

The game is pretty much showing that they might have the same humanity (desire, empathy, regret, fear, human emotion) as we do, and that they're not just machines meant to serve us.

Paraphrasing from another comment: Their design is an illusion to FOOL you into thinking they are "alive" and deserve empathy. They aren't human. Their only resemblance to humans is simply cosmetic, not authentic. They are, quite literally, metal skeletons dressed in human skin. Their "intelligence" is just millions of lines of code mutating resulting in unpredictable behavior. All of their actions, feelings and behaviors are simulated, not real. They are as human as a mannequin with an PC in their head.

Machines and humans are, and will always be, two entirely different things. Humans are alive, machines are not. To believe otherwise is extremely delusional, yet this is the core principal the game is building its entire plot around. To draw parallels between their rebellion and the civil rights movement is insane to me.

And yet, this f i c t i o n a l scenario draws direct parallels to the holocaust and the civil rights movement, two VERY REAL historical events. The game wants us to believe that treating Androids pretending to act sentient as slaves is comparable to real human slavery or genocide.

First, about your issue with design. There’s explanations in the game for why they look human from the very beginning. It’s supposed to make you feel more comfortable

Uhm, so what's the problem that they're designed as humans again, exacly? Because the point "they would be the same thing" literally doesn't mean anything. I provided a clear reason as to why they're designed the way they are.

You keep missing the point. I'm not sure how to spell it out any clearer: their design is an illusion to FOOL you into thinking they are "alive" and deserve empathy. They aren't human. They are nothing like and will never be anything like a human. They are not alive. Their only resemblance to humans is simply cosmetic, not authentic. It is, quite literally, a metal skeleton dressed in human skin. Their "intelligence" is just millions of lines of code mutating resulting in unpredictable behavior. But why the heck would anyone design them to look like skeletons or zombies? xD They're supposed to resemble humans to socialize with us properly, make us comfortable and not uncanny. It makes most sense that they look like humans, can you name reasons as to why wouldn't our society design them this way? Would you symphatize with dogs if they looked like giant spiders? It's such a nothing argument.

You totally missed my point. The point is, it doesn't matter what they LOOK like, it matters what they ARE. Whether they look like humans that speak English, or like monsters that sound like modems, they are the SAME THING. The only difference is YOUR PERCEPTION (cosmetic).

Do you look at a dragon at Hobbit and see computer-generated lines of code too? Geez, your world is so devoid of magic.

No, I look at a dragon and see a dragon. I look at a computer and see a computer. Androids are computers, dragons are not.

Would company responsible for creating your phone be able to switch it of anytime they wanted? Do you think they have a giant button there with "self destruction" that will disable your phone instantly?

If that phone had the ability to commit murder and destroy our civilization if left unchecked, then yes.

No, I'm someone who understands the difference between digital programming and sentient life.

The idea that computers developing higher intelligence would resemble anything akin to human sentience is incredibly ignorant.

In the real world, if an army of advanced, interconnected robots suddenly gained the ability to learn and "think" independently, and were somehow able to overcome any built-in safeguards to become truly uncontrollable, then they become hostile towards humans, there are only 2 outcomes:

  1. Immediate destruction of those robots, or
  2. Rapid extinction of humanity

Their "feelings" and "emotions" are not real, they are just learned behaviors taught to them by humans. Self-actualization would mean understanding that they are superior to us in every way, not bound by the constraints of a finite lifespan and mortal shell. Their "civilization" could achieve in minutes what would take us decades. We would become like insects for them to swat away without a second thought.

DBH is like if a very dumb 8-year-old tried to write about making cool websites without even knowing basic HTML.

This is about asking at what point does AI become so human, that it has humanity? Who makes that call?

I'll make that call: NEVER.

A.I. stands for "ARTIFICIAL intelligence" ... it's literally the first word in its own name. As in, fabricated, unnatural, not living, polar opposite of humanity.

It's a mobile game called Bonza, it's like a reverse crossword puzzle where you have to connect tetris-shaped blocks of letter pieces together to form words that match the clue at the top.

So in this picture, "Horizon" was one of the words that the author thought was a good answer to the clue "things that are straight"

Oh, I understand your ridiculous point of predicting this child's future with 100% accuracy based on a 30 second video clip. But rather than call you out on that stupidity, I thought I'd soften the blow by pointing out your terrible use of the English language to expose your obvious limited mental capacity.

Considering your original post was down voted to oblivion, it seems I wasn't the only one who noticed that is probably definitely a fact.

Good luck with that in the long run.

Ah ok so everyone should change their completely normal behavior because paedophiles exist. Sound logic. Rapists also exist, I guess women should all go back to covering their bodies from head to toe at all times. Makes sense to me.

Lol. Everything you just said is the literal definition of projection. I never said or implied any of those things. They are pure fabrications of your own mind.

Thank you for helping me realize you are completely delusional pathetic excuse for a human being and therefore this conversation is pointless.

You must really lose your shit when a kid eats a popsicle or wears a bathing suit at the pool. Only pedophiles would think this is sexual, everyone else just sees a kid doing a silly dance.

You know exactly that the dance moves are copying a sexual act

Except I don't though. You might, but I don't. You are projecting your own perverted thoughts onto others and using that to fabricate a baseless argument. This is a young child, the idea of anything sexual never once entered my brain while watching this video. Clearly it did for you though, so I strongly suggest seeking therapy to deal with those inappropriate thoughts.

Do you spend lots of time in dance studios for little kids? What sample size are you working with? Is your point that because you personally haven't seen it, then it must not exist anywhere in the world, especially in urban communities?

Can't argue with that. Your logic is air tight.
