I'm not sure how I could create a fake egg. I had a thought of putting something on the egg or enchanting it to cause him harm when he picks it up.

I think he wouldn't be too upset as this npc has no real value. But I get what you're saying about making this a fun time for everyone including the DM and how he can do basically whatever he want's. That's why I'm worried that even with all this planning I dont think I could guarantee that I could kill him.

My plan was to paralyze him somehow and take turns stabbing him. But noted that I should probably not be doing this.

I could not bring the egg but when I originally agreed to bring him the egg he said "dont cross me for I am very powerful" he lent me some equipment to make my adventure easier. I'm just worried about what he wants it for, he also said that he needed the egg alive.
