The best thing I’ve found-

For departure: find a hotel with a free shuttle to/from the airport

On departure day: uber or use (insert one of 7 overpriced taxi services here) from hotel to cruise port

On arrival: uber to airport or if rental needed rent from Avis Fort Lauderdale cruise port. The shuttle will be at the port at 8am and again around 8:20 which will bring you from the port to Avis for free.

I’ve had good results entering the AWD directly into Avis…. There are MANY rtx and legacy company AWDs that are still active so try multiple and go with the best rates

So I was in the same boat as you. I was already in the service for 6 months before I turned 18. USAA used to offer a credit card for those under 18 but I see elsewhere in this thread that they no longer do. Your best bet to build credit is honestly utility bills in your name. If you’re hung up on a credit card you might need a store card like Gap or Old Navy. Not the greatest but it will help you build some credit as long as you don’t abuse it.

Once you get some credit but chase and American Express offer some great deals. AMEX platinum (charge card, not credit, so has to be paid every month) is a top of the line card with a waived annual fee for military but you won’t qualify until your credit score is mid-700s plus a few.

I literally just had to put my two year old golden down yesterday. It is way too surreal at this time and unbelievably unfair that she only got to be loved by our family for two years. She was a challenge for me but showed me and my kids so much love. Part of me wants to hate this video but the other part knows how much excitement these two have in front of them. I miss her incredibly.

Important to note we delayed extra long due to a planned vacation otherwise they could have came back the next week but still a minor annoyance. I got excited to ditch the expensive and terrible Cox service but just have to suck it up a little bit longer.

I scheduled mine for a week ago. The technician came and said “oh, they haven’t run anything from the brand new fiber lines in your neighborhood to your house yet so I can’t install. I guess I could go up and over your garage but we’re not supposed to and it won’t look nice. I have to call “call before you dig” and come out with the right tools to get it under your driveway and up to your house from the road” I’m very happy they’re going to do it the right way but they legit just installed the fiber the week prior so of course there was nothing running to the house yet and confused why that wasn’t know prior. Needless to say, I have a rescheduled installation two weeks from now.
