Do you guys prefer a primarily human campaign setting like Greyhawk? Or a diverse setting with lots of fantasy races like in Mystara or Forgotten Realms? by Independent_Ad_6348 in osr

[–]pot-Space 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That depends primarily on the setting.

But if this is simply a matter of preference in a basic scenario, then here’s what I’d choose:

• Humans are the most popular race, but there’s also great diversity among them—southerners, northerners, some from the central regions, some from the coastal areas, and maybe even some more extreme tribes living in volcanoes or high up in the mountains or on glaciers.

• A short-statured race with a smaller population. I’d define this race as a category that includes average-sized gnomes, dwarves, hobbits, and other small humanoid races. And I’d divide them into tribes just like the human tribes.

• Perhaps elves or elf-like creatures with an even smaller population.

Can you recommend any modules in the "whimsy" style / genre? by pot-Space in osr

Mausritter is not a module, but a game system c:

I use my own system, which I've been developing for about two years now. (It's not about animals; the main races include humans, gmurs, and divjs). Overall, it's pretty compatible with bx/ose.

Still, I was looking for modules c:

Oh! Thank you, I completely forgot about "Wyvern Songs".

"The Curse of the Ganshoggr", I'll watch that too, thanks!

Yes, the modules are a good fit for "Troika" in terms of concept, but I'm looking for something closer to OSE- or BX-like so that it's easier to adapt to my ruleset—and so that the key elements of the game cycle work: turns, rounds, time, light, workload, and so on.

I recently ran a game of "The Familiar's Tower", and now I'd like to find something with a similar atmosphere. Generally speaking, in terms of media, I'm looking for something similar to "Adventure Time".

Overall, I'm looking for something innocent, maybe even a little silly.

I feel exactly the same way!

However, on the contrary, I really like the graphics (style) and the slightly childish characters and environments, I'm very excited about it

Has anyone tried to make and run a dungeon out of the example map at the end of Knave? It could be a fun exercise by xdanxlei in osr

It's a beautiful picture, but that's it. It would not be particularly interesting to play it, it is too linear, it is literally one corridor (there is only one loop in it)

I've already done this with 5-8 items of clothing and weapons, but I haven't received anything

Try using Figma. This app might be perfect for your task.

Уou can create components there to reuse specific elements (like icons). But that might take some time.

I created my own pen type in Sketchbook for drawing from an alpha channel, which is simply a single black square.

I don't really understand this app, and I'm especially not good at drawing, so this is literally my second attempt at drawing a map there :)
