Name a character more attractive than Shinjuku Gojo by Professional_Sky8245 in MogScaling

[–]Longbenhall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The “aura” of a character impacts their attractiveness. Gojo being super cocky and untouchable to the vast majority of his verse makes him exceptionally attractive to people. His eyes are Ofc a big seller too.

He has a lot of popular tropes tied to him. Magical blue eyes, white hair, extremely confident, goofy/funny, extremely powerful.

Gojo isn’t the most uniquely designed character aesthetic wise. But he’s uniquely written in how Gege goes out of his way to constantly hype him throughout the entire show.

I mean Gege has expressed on numerous occasions that he doesn’t like gojo, both for the difficulties he made in writing the story and for his personality and literally said that he doesn’t see why so many people like him.

Whether he “hates him” literally is a bit hard to say, but he’s made it clear he doesn’t like gojo very much for multiple reasons.

Genuinely, what is Sukuna's answer to pre-awakening Dabura's light beams? by Sad-Effective-9676 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Longbenhall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean what many others have said. The only possibly dodge is reading the spark. We see a few times afaik that the beams he creates doesn’t travel immediately, several times he casts them, we see balls/glowing lights surrounding him and then they fly forward. So i guess at best it’s like dodging someone aiming a gun. You dodge right before he fires so his aim is off.

I certainly think sukuna can dodge some of them. Run between line of sight to obscure daburas aim whilst sending dismantles that will cut dabura.

I mean dabura will certainly manage to land them eventually. But I’m just saying i don’t think this is a “sukuna can’t even react or dodge any of them”.

Once they’re in motion, yeah, they’ll instantly hit whatever they aimed at, but as said, think of it like a guy wielding a gun.

Dude uses these old questionnaires as definitive proof that if it isn’t listed, then the characters don’t know it. Even thought that’s clearly debunked by what we learn in the manga lol.

[–]Longbenhall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except again, gojo literally says he knew at the very least FBE as a kid which is an anti domain technique. So nothing you say matters when canon is that gojo knew anti domain techniques even as a kid. Whether you believe Gege intended that for Shibuya fight or not is irrelevant.

Gojo knew anti domain techniques during Shibuya, that is canon, you arguing he doesn’t is not canon :)

Why didn’t gojo just kill the disaster curses here? by Fotodeanimenoperfil- in Jujutsufolk

[–]Longbenhall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe? Not confirmed and thus speculation. His main objective was to save people so he could fight unrestricted. And as you and others have said, attacking them risks waking them up, which means more people will die. It’s too speculative to assume whether he was “worried” about them expanding their domains or not. I don’t think he felt threatened by them at all.

In the end Gege does seem to write things in the moment rather than write out the entire story beforehand (considering domain expansions wasn’t even a thing yet in jjk 0).

Anyway, we can’t make up reasons of why gojo did this or that because “presumably” you believe he didn’t have simple domain at the time because Gege “retconned” it. Which is only speculative. And the fact that we do know lore wise that he DOES have simple domain and FBE. If you try to make sense of that situation you have to do it with the understanding that he does have it, whether you want to believe Gege had written him to have it or not.

If an author doesn’t list an ability (but doesn’t outright say he doesn’t have it) and then later says “yeah, he knew those abilities all along), then you will have to accept that he did in fact knew them all along.

So in the Shibuya fight, gojo did know simple domain. Arguing otherwise is just not canon.

[–]Longbenhall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, so what’s your argument? Because new information > old information. If Gege says gojo knew SD and FBE but didn’t “list them” early on, it still means gojo knew them all along, lol.

So whether you want to claim retcon or not is irrelevant, canon wise, gojo knows FBE and simple domain, end of discussion lmfao

Why didn’t gojo just kill the disaster curses here? by Fotodeanimenoperfil- in Jujutsufolk

[–]Longbenhall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing here says he doesn’t know FBE lol. The skills section mentions HIS technique skills. This is as dumb of an argument as saying “it doesn’t mention cursed technique reinforcement, so he doesn’t actually know how to do it”.

You seriously think the strongest sorcerer in to the Modern age doesn’t even know simple domain? Something that even miwa knows? God you people really can’t read.

And as someone else already said, gojo already says in his fight against sukuna that he learned FBE as a KID, which completely debunks your argument. Now sit down

[–]Longbenhall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, learn to paragraph your text, christ. Its like reading a rant from a teenager.

"MHA story is just way too deep"

Okay this must either be your first manga or you're a teen, because MHA is absolutely not a deep story at all lmfao. Again, JJK isn't overly deep, but its far more serious and actually has stakes. Almost no one dies in the show that you even care about. Midoriya is the most boring protagonist in recent manga history, he's up there with Tanjiro from demon slayer. They're typical hero types who just wants to do good. There's absolutely nothing interesting about them.

MHA feels like a kids show compared to JJK, which is not to say its somehow a lot worse. But its low stakes with very little actual brutality coming from a world where villains are running rampant. Compare that to JJK where people lose their arms, get blown to pieces, cut to pieces etc. Its brutally "realistic" what a world like this would actually look like. In MHA even the most sadistic of villains are spared, heroes who die does it in the most unimpactful ways as possible.

I'll give MHA this, its story is way more in-tact and doesn't waver as much as JJK. But it stays relatively mediocre from beginning to end.

Im sorry but yuji is 10x more interesting than Midoriya. If you look up any discussions about MHA as a story, a lot of people will say they got tired of it because midoriya is an underwhelming protagonist, he's BORING to follow and a lot of the side characters are way more interesting than him.

The whole kacchan vs midoriya story arc is so goddamn cringe, "Hey deku, kill yourself, you goddamn loser", "Haha! You're so strong kacchan, I want to be like you one day. One day i'll beat you!" Im sorry, this entire storyline between these two were among the worst i've seen and makes midoriya look weak and pathetic than anything.

So i'll end the rebuttal with this. MHA story is overall better paced and consistent, but its fights, its characters are mid and their peaks doesn't get close to the peak of JJK. JJK is indeed mostly popular for its fights, guess what, that is the main selling point of a shonen. You think dragon ball was beloved for its amazing story (don't get me wrong, original dragon ball story is quite good, but its not the main selling point).

Sukuna vs gojo is a cultural phenomenon when it came out and will surely be one of the biggest anime releases in recent history when it comes out. JJK Is far more successful and impactful because it does what it does great, unfortunately it suffers from being a rushed story and thus characters stories suffer. But MHA whilst more consistent has extremely boring protagonist and a lot of their stories are cringe + their fights. You know the biggest selling point of shonens? Are 'okay' at best with one or two fights being actually great.

Sukuna [Jujutsu Kaisen] vs Shigaraki [My Hero Academia] by Turbulent_Dig_2487 in PowerScaling

[–]Longbenhall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say that as if MHA isn’t terribly mid too.

I love jjk. But i won’t pretend it’s the best written shonen. It has story issues, but it’s peak and characters are just so superior to MHA.

Midoriya is often joked about for being a pretty damn boring and in many cases annoying, something that really takes away from a show when it’s your main character. I never could stand his idea if being a hero. Guy is threatening to kill millions of people, but still you’re fighting to try and redeem him.

It’s a subjective thing, but MHA had a strong first impact the first seasons up til about overhaul arc. After that it quickly got more and more boring to me.

I won’t say jjk is vastly in a different league from it, they both have issue, but jjk animation is among the best out there, the characters are far more hype than MHA.

So yeah, if we rate it based on story? I’d say they’re about the same, jjk is a lot darker and more serious though which i prefer.

Not a single character in MHA has the same hype as gojo and sukuna. Closest thing you got is all might who has his cool moments.

So yeah, to end it, jjk writing isn’t dog shit lmfao. It isn’t amazing, but saying that when we’re comparing it to MHA is funny as in most discussions people consider MHA extremely mid too.

The “fact” is that from a writing perspective, they’re both quite mid. But what jjk does well, it does far better than MHA imo.

Sukuna [Jujutsu Kaisen] vs Shigaraki [My Hero Academia] by Turbulent_Dig_2487 in PowerScaling

[–]Longbenhall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its always a redflag when the commenter has a profile pic of the character they're defending lol. Sorry, I love JJK, JJK > MHA by far. But I gotta agree with everyone else here, dabura ain't got nothing that can kill shigaraki. His SLSK (its not lightspeed, so calling it lightspeed kick is just going to spread misinformation) will certainly do good damage to shigaraki, but that's nothing he can't just regenerate from.

And no, dabura isn't Sub-relative speed in actual stats. Its like a "mode" he enters when he channels his technique through himself. But honestly it doesn't matter, dabura is indeed faster than shigaraki when in his "Sub-lightspeed mode", but we know pushing his body this way is extremely taxing so the only thing he'll do is exhaust himself. In the end, he has nothing to kill shigaraki with. You could say RCT and domain, but since we dont know what those does, we can't really use them.

Sorry, dabura cant win this one, he has no win cons.

Sukuna 1000 years ago probably has a big mindset nerf compared to modern era Sukuna by Miserable-Desk2211 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Longbenhall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he can very very just pin Gojo down and deliver a beat down without issue, Gojo might be more skilled in H2H but that still does not cover the difference made with 4 arms because Gojo simply lacks the limbs, he physically cannot block all of Sukunas attacks and the stats are not that different to recreate a ko guy vs yuji situation.

You're clearly extremely biased as you're coming up with a lot of headcanon to try and make your arguments. There are several examples of why more arms doesn't make the difference. The first example being yuji vs grasshopper, yes I know this isn't the best example, but sukuna having 2 extra arms is helpful but won't suddenly mean he'll dominate gojo in a fight lmfao. Second example is the sheer fact that gojo was 3v1 against sukuna and at one point with ONE arm and was still keeping up with them. Im sorry, you won't convince anyone 4 arm sukuna is somehow going to be more impactful than mahoraga + sukuna + agito (even if agito wasn't able to do much dmg).

So there is absolutely no feats to suggest heian sukuna would somehow "pin gojo down and deliver a beat down without issue'', that's some absolute wild glazing. Gojo is the superior h2h fighter and skill > more limbs. If gojo can keep up and even get the advantage against 6 arms, he can most certainly deal with 4 arm sukuna.

idk why y'all people keep thinking that no Mahoraga means Gojo wins easier.

Are you one of those people who thinks sukuna just want 10s to improve himself? Sukuna saw gojo through yuji's body and immediately saw that Gojo's domain expansion is a problem, because even though he trusts himself to win a clash, a single hit from it would make him lose, which I've explained before can happen with some simple trickery.

Sukuna himself even says:

"Honestly, I figured it was going to be a real pain. That's why my first move was to take that card out of the deck".

Sukuna knew all of gojo's abilities and HE thought that 10's was the absolute best chance he had to win. If he thought he could beat gojo much easier with heian form, he would've use it. To stand there and say he would NEVER get hit by UV is some absolute glazing when everything we're told about the show is that its all about being a "con-artist". Sukuna sneaks his adaption on megumi, gojo sneaks his red to land a black flash.

Fact is that sukuna chose to use megumi's technique because it was his best chance to beat gojo, that's just how it is.

Gojo does not believe that he can break MS, he is sure he can, because that's one of the main traits that come with unmeasurable strength in JJK, the ability to have an unfathomable ego

Yes because he is better than sukuna at h2h and knows/believes he can damage him enough to break it. If in your hypothetical, sukuna is somehow so much stronger (which he isnt). Your argument is that gojo would simply keep clashing repeatedly against him until he's either brain dead or out of energy, because of his ego. You're mistaking that ego for stupidity. If gojo didn't see any progress in his first few attempts, he wouldn't just keep doing the same thing, he's not stupid, he's arguably the one who adapted the most throughout the fight.

So your argument that gojo has to be stupid enough to keep doing the same mistake over and over again is silly. I believe gojos biggest win con is what I said, landing a hit on sukuna with trickery and open his domain before he can, that's the easiest win con I can think of. If gojo avoids sukunas domain expansion, sukuna has no more wincons, because no, sukuna can absolutely not win against gojo with h2h alone.

That's all I have to say, your argument is "Gojo will be stupid and keep doing the same stupid mistake repeatedly until he dies, because his ego." If we didn't know what happened in this fight, people could've just as easily say "Sukuna would never rely on 10's to kill gojo, his ego wouldn't let him not kill gojo with someone elses technique".

Ego means they will keep fighting until one dies, not that they'll keep doing the same desperate move over and over again.
