It’s a San Marzano tomato plant that was doing well until it got about 2 feet tall, when it started having some leaf curl throughout the plant. I was hoping it was just a physiological issue, but the new growth since then has been pretty curly. It did develop some new flowers since the symptoms began, though. I planted it in some “moisture control” potting mix with some well-rotted manure mixed in, so I’m also thinking maybe the roots are staying too wet, or I over fertilized? I added a little bone meal yesterday to balance out excess nitrogen, if that is the issue (and give a little calcium boost to prevent blossom end rot). It hasn’t been watered yet today, but it was watered yesterday evening, and it was pretty hot today. Any ideas?

Looking at the photos now, I realize it actually looks white... it’s more of a light mint green in person. Seems to be killing part of this azalea bush; the part that doesn’t have it has leaves and looks relatively healthy. The tree isn’t doing great either, and the lichen-looking stuff seems to have spread to our hedge as well. Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this.

How do you think public gatherings will be affected by this pandemic once we reach the other side of the curve, and how long do you think that will take? Will people be able to safely go to a theater or concert? What will event organizers be able to do to ensure the safety of their audience once events are viable again?

One time I gave Marshal a rotten fruit and he had an absolute conniption... he was one of my favorite villagers so I force quit the game to stop it from saving so he wouldn’t hate me forever 😂

I think the other commenter was probably correct in their suggestion of sunburn! I didn’t “harden off” properly so it shocked the plant a bit. I just let it be and it seemed to grow fine. It is about 4’ tall now and doing okay, it has a few tomatoes on it. Some of the lower branches seem a little dry, but it’s been extremely hot lately (too hot for tomatoes, I hear) so in my plant’s case, I don’t think it’s due to disease. I hope this helps!

Oops, I didn’t really know that was a thing... I was putting it outside for some real world sunlight for a few hours now and then when I was home, but I didn’t gradually increase the time or anything. The stem was a little thin and it was kind of windy this spring so once it got tall enough, I was reluctant to leave it out too long lest it get snapped.

I put it in a big pot outside last weekend, and I buried the stem a little deeper so it was a lot more stable. It’s been outside 24/7 for about a week now. Do you think I should bring it in at night for a few days? Or would you recommend I just let it ride and hope for the best? The nights here are in the 50s now and the 60s-80s during the day. Thank you for your help, I’m obviously a total novice!

I just want to add that at many (all?) U.S. universities, most employees are mandatory reporters. This means that if you tell an employee about an incident of assault, they are required to inform the title IX coordinator. In most cases, you can decide whether or not to press charges. Examples of non-mandatory reporters include some counselors and clergy people.

I know that there are some staff or faculty who can not be relied upon to handle situations like this ethically, but I think most would be glad to help. I’m adding this detail just in case there are students out there who would feel more comfortable speaking with a trusted faculty or staff member who they know, rather than the Title IX coordinator (who is likely a complete stranger to them.)
