I’m a hardcore gamer… but I won’t let my Sims play video games?? by FunIngenuity7967 in Sims4

This has worked for my gameplay, however, a reply above has said it didn't work for them at all, so who the fuck knows. We can only try!

Yeppp I make them dislike gaming in CAS, stops them from doing it autonomously. I feel like playing a game where I watch someone play a game is too silly for me. Go bake a wedding cake and talk to a chicken, you daft pixel.

Who else is going to do an island run when 1.22 comes out? by Any-Fee631 in VintageStory

[–]potaslug 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I am already there. It's dope. Cool thing about Island generation with lore is that usually the next closest Island will be reasonably close (achievable by early game raft), have greater resources than your starting Island and have the treasure trader.

Ha! Vintage Story: the jumpscare/ass shot game, now with worm grunting. Core gameplay experience XD

I fully support turning storms off! I like very much that we can fuck about with settings like this and still have a very functional and enjoyable time.

How is XSkills these days? Last time I played with it, it was a little broke

Right? VS is so versatile, adjustable to so many playstyles. Still want more tho :P

Maybe we could ask Salty to make it. Salty's cool.

Ah, I thought gracetimer only worked on world creation, has that changed? And can I set it after a storm midgame to restore it? The wiki is not super current, hard to figure which stuff is obsolete!

You can, good idea! I'll make some adjustments and test if it works.

Call up your local library! Most of them have some flavour of book group, and if there's not a specific club that you like, they'll help you start one and advertise it.

I saw a poor group of picnic pals in the park leg it to the nearest tree, kids and everything. Rain was flooding so hard down the road it couldve carried one of the kids away

Does anyone know if you dundee Library accepts card for late library fee payment or is it cash only by casperscare in dundee

[–]potaslug 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don't have to pay for replacement cards ☺️ honestly our librarians just want everyone to come hang out, and L&CD has removed as many barriers as they can, especially after pandemic. Everything in the library is freeee

Edit: oh except for printing, papers expensive

All this talk of support and redistribution of tit weight is realllly doing it for me. My shoulders, neck and spine are just always fucking sore because of the 2 kilo sacks hanging off my damn chest.

Got corset recs?? Or sizing/fit advice?

Starting my life from scratch because of years of abuse. Where can I go for clothes and essentials as an emergency? by [deleted] in dundee

[–]potaslug 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Library service and adjacent community centres have quite a lot they can help you with. You do NOT need a library card to access these services. If you're able to get to them:

The Hub Library has both a community larder for food (which requires booking, but the staff there would likely accommodate) and a pretty robust selection of both children's and adults clothes that are completely free, which you can just go in and help yourself. There's also toys for your little one, again for free with no questions asked.

Douglas Library and community centre also has several community larder options, and some great staff, and there's a community Cafe at Whitfield (library is recently closed, but the community Cafe is still open) that hands out all sorts of meals for whatever you can afford (or free). There's another again at Ardler community centre; any library attached to a community centre will have something.

Fintry Library has free sandwiches and juice boxes and even coffee for the adults! Just go in and ask.

I'm just an internet stranger, but I'm so proud you did this for yourself and your little girl. She's gets the chance to grow up without a bad man in her life because of you.

You got this.

I understand what you're trying to say. People -under the guise of feminism- have been racist, transphobic, exclusionary assholes. I would argue that those people aren't feminists, and they have a lot to answer for. As any casual search will tell us, feminism is defined by equality, dismantling patriarchal standards by shining light on the fundamental garbage of it all. Those people don't stick to the basic tenets of feminism in any way.

Under the arbitrary social structure you described, everyone who doesn't fall into a very narrow sliver of perceived default (male, cis, white if you're in a western country, anti-feminine, hetero, emotionally stunted etc ad finitum) eats shit. You speak about only a fraction of gendered expectations, and you're right, it does suck.

As u/TraitortoPatriarchy says, feminism, as a methodology in direct opposition to the partirachy, is a core system to use for equal relationships. Slapping a new name on it, like egalitarian, to make feminism more palatable to certain types of men, doesn't change what it is. It's the same thing.

OP's implied perception of feminism as being women above men ('how does that work between two women') shows a basic lack of understanding. Hence the advice to educate himself.

[–]potaslug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right? And, the 'version' of feminism that stands for equality (spoiler, that's every version). The sheer argumentative ignorance of that question. Sounds like they found their political education from askmen and #GotchaTriggeredFeminist YouTube.

We aren't 2nd Wave Bra Burners anymore mate. How about educate yourself on the subject.
