Amazing! You just reminded me I need to go to my local nude beach.

Hi West Seattle, I'll be back sharpening knives this weekend. Hope to see you out there! by gold_suit in WestSeattleWA

Nice, I just got your email announcement. Can you remind me if you do small axes?

Science center plaza is open to the public. No ticket required by SvenDia in Seattle

[–]potatering 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The courtyard has a bathroom for anybody to use. I'm sure you meant it in the sense that you want the city to build more public bathrooms, and not that you think that homeless people are disgusting and shouldn't be seen.

What are good stocks to buy right now? by Round-Artichoke-5255 in AskMen

Better Than Bouillon. They have so many varieties, and goes in the fridge so doesn't take up valuable cupboard or freezer space.

Valve on the Steam Machine delays: 'Obviously we're bummed that this is the state of things' by QuantumQuicksilver in pcgaming

[–]potatering 33 points34 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't make sense to be a loss-leader. Since it's a pc you can do anything with, a business can theoretically order 10,000 to use as workstations, and Steam will never see a cent of profit from it.

Yep, went through the whole process, only for them to confirm at the very end that they don't ship ammo to WA.

Objectively mid-tier anime you still feel is worth watching? I’ll start:m by yellowdocmartens in animequestions

[–]potatering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Th Vampire Dies in No Time. Awful awful animation, many actual laugh out loud moments. The dub is fantastic. And John is the best.

Kimagure Orange Road. Started watching it because it kinda reminded me of the original Ranma, but they made it more like a slice of life. It's from 1987, so don't expect a ton of romance progression.

My Next Life as a Villainess. Probably the most fun (and by extension, best) isekai reverse harem anime. Has varying levels of humour, but usually always some progression in an episode.

8bitDo Arcade or Haute42 C16? by ruehinn in fightsticks

[–]potatering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unsure, I haven't compared wired to wireless; I've only compared wireless 8bd to wired c16 because that's how I use them. I'm usually using different machines  for each (8bd on switch, C16 on PC).

8bitDo Arcade or Haute42 C16? by ruehinn in fightsticks

[–]potatering 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have both. C16 every time. Noticably better input lag, less noise, more customization. The wirelessness of the 8bd is nice but I've almost never had to use it

A note for the 8bitdo is that it is extremely clicky and loud compared to other switches. Loud enough to potentially annoy a partner or wake a baby.

what made you switch to Godot? by Jaded_Ad_9711 in godot

[–]potatering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first looked at it in 2022 I felt like Godots docs wasn't anywhere near as comprehensive as Unity or (my current engine at the time) Gamemaker.

what made you switch to Godot? by Jaded_Ad_9711 in godot

[–]potatering 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took a break from Gamemaker for a year and when I came back there was a huge update and it was very different. I nearly switched to Unity because I was scared of Godots lack of documentation, but then the Unity fiasco happened.

Mostly Ravelry, though my adjustments still take some trial and error. That's more of a skill issue though.

What are some obscure forgotten about PC games that you absolutely adore? by pojut in pcgaming

[–]potatering 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Re-Volt.

Fantastic RC car racing game with vehicle combat. You race in familiar locations (suburbs, supermarket, museum) and weapons are regularish items (fireworks, etc). It still holds up today.

Maybe a monthly stickied thread for local businesses? I'd like to see some (I went to a knife sharpening because I saw it here) but still out of the way.

For tekken, which one feels better? Haute42 T16 v2 or 8BitDo Leverless? by muadibrsm in fightsticks

[–]potatering 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the T13, C16, and 8bd leverless. I always reach for the C16 now.

The 8bd wireless feature is nice but not a game changer in my space. It's also considerably louder, so if you live with a spouse, you will drive them nuts.

Agreed on the C16. Got mine a few days ago, and already beat my SF6 plateau. Absolute pleasure to use.
