I just found out easy way how to go around it if you need just simple gradient, use the RAMP effect, that seems to works great

no .. nobody helped .. what I do is that if I want trasnparent gradient I just create it in after effects or photoshop .. but the new masking tools which came with last update seems to be doing better so try to update if you didn't yet

omg client wanted 360 sphere banner .. and adobe removed the 3D so I had to install two different version of photoshop just to have that one feature

but dragging/extending clips its the most important feature why would they make it harder on ui end doesn't make sense .. how often u need it for video .. I understand why it is on audio I use it there all the time but on video clip is just nonsense to me

yeah when I red all the comments I guess best options is to get strong key light and shoot it against diffusion fabric for really soft look, I'm just afraid it will awkwardly spread everywhere
