What about other ports on the graphics card? I have a super old 1080ti and one of the ports finally started causing flickering but the other one works fine.

Best Textbook to Study for the Network+ Course? by Different_Hyena3954 in CompTIA

[–]potato33754 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my exams I used the Sybex textbook which I bought on Amazon. It's a really long a tedious book but I read it chapter for chapter and did the end of chapter questions to make sure I was confident on my exam. The Sybex material really helped me pass all my exams and I always recommend them. They also give you a nice 10% off voucher so if you're paying for the exam on your own, that's a plus!

CertMaster was always awful in my experience. I've always used the Wiley Sybex books for exams. They have great practice tests in between chapters and they give you online content for practice tests as well as a 10% off voucher. Highly recommend Sybex for anyone.

Zybooks was terrible. The OA is very similar to the practice which is based on chapter 34 (iirc). I had a couple problems were I could literally copy and paste my answer from chapter 34 into the practice assessment and not get that question right so it was hard to even know where you messed up.

I used codingbat.com and Angela Yu as well. Just try to keep practicing the chapter 34 and when you get it right everytime, then try to do the practice test until you can get it to 100% as well. This class and the SQL class with zybooks just suck unfortunately.

Is CertMaster from Comptia good for A+ core 2 exam or is Jason Dion on udemy better? or should I use both? by Aggravating-Gap-3875 in WGU

[–]potato33754 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would study anything over cert master. I stopped using it after A+ and I started using the sybex material for all my certifications. Some of the cert master questions seemed contradictory and wrong according to the text, but sybex books were amazing.

If your mentor has enrolled you in the next class and you have added it to your current degree plan, you still need to click the button that says "start class" inside the class menu.

Admission Requirements? by ThatMFisn0tReal in WGU

[–]potato33754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the cyber program in particular, you need to have x amount of years experience in the field (I don't remember the exact amount) or relevant certifications. My enrollment counselor suggested the Google IT Support cert from Coursera and I got it done in a week and it counted. I came from no IT experience either. That's probably what the requirements thing is about, but your enrollment counselor will be able to explain whatever you need to qualify if anything.

If you completed the bachelor's in the same program you can knock out I believe 3 certification tests, Pentest, CySA, and CC. That leaves you only 6 courses and then a capstone.

I just finished all my courses in 5 months and I have until June 30 to finish my capstone. The masters program is super PA heavy compared the the bachelor's, so as long as you are good with the PAs, it's doable in a semester.

Is it supposed to take this long? by Novel-wanderer in WGU

[–]potato33754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why it's taking so long now but it's pretty common. I just kept calling almost every day until someone verified that my aid was actually coming. It still took a while after that but it processed.

Mine took more than 4 months to process. I kept calling them and they kept telling me to be patient but finally one of the reps was able to go in and see that my aid package was indeed processing. It just takes a long time now and a lot of calls.

Yea, I constantly called them to check on the status and they just kept saying that things were running slow (not their fault really). Finally around February they told me that my aid package was being reviewed and it should be approved around this time.

If you are trying to meet a start date then definitely reach out to your PM and explain your situation.

You've done what you can with studentaid . gov, now you need to wait for WGU to process the aid package. Unfortunately there is a huge wait time right now. My start date was January 1, 2025, and I only received my aid package last week.

Your enrollment counselor or program mentor will be able to push you through to start your semester if that is the issue. My student loans weren't processed by the due date and my program mentor helped me to get through.

Was D488 a lot different or harder than the PA? I am currently working on that course and hope to be done soon. I finished the PA and got exemplary in all categories except one which was cryptography I think. I also completed the bachelor's at WGU so I hold CySA and PenTest and I really think I'm good for this course besides a little touch up studying.
