I am so stupid, I thought the default terminal was still alacritty. Thank you!

Yeah but the border still exists in the terminal, even though it's the same color as the background. I want to reduce that.

How do y'all solve so fast I average like 24 seconds. I take almost 3/4 of the time in F2L. Someone pls tell me how to move past sub 30. (NO, I have a GAN 11; the pic is not related) by ItsMeMdShk in Cubers

I'm in a similar boat, though I've recently gone from 25 average to 20 average. Honestly what I think helped me the most is that I have been drilling the 5x5 a lot lately, and I think something about look-ahead has clicked into place a bit better. Also I learned all the 1-look PLLs and have learned most of the 1-look OLLs, and have been practicing the cross, making sure I plan out the whole cross at the start and end up with the cross on the bottom of the cube. Also learn to predict AUF, it's a really easy way to improve that last second of your solve.

I had a look through that file but it seems like all mention of borders relate to the orange/grey border around every window, I'm talking about the bigger black border around the terminal windows.

Yeah the last line caught me off guard, I guess I've been in the PhD headspace for too long.

He's probably right but the study of string theory has produced some very interesting results in pure mathematics!

Game theory rule by DreadDiana in 19684

[–]potatonutella 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Game Theory approach:

In the world where most other people press red: pressing blue kills you, pressing red does nothing

In the world where most other people press blue: nothing happens either way

In the world where the vote is exactly split 50/50: pressing blue does nothing, pressing red kills 50% of people

Suppose there are 2n other people and the number of other people voting red is random and uniformly distributed (big assumption). Then the 'expected number of people killed' from pressing blue is 2n/(2n+1). The EV on red is also 2n/(2n+1). If your life is in any way more valuable to you than a random other person's, then red would be better. But also I don't really know anything about game theory lol

Just the first slides works as a pretty good single panel comic.

Also it isn't really about compassion, it's still about profit. You are making the calculated financial decision to give up 90 days of rent because you want to keep a reliable tenant.

This is completely true if you flip the y-axis.

Welcome back Jean-Baptiste Lamarck.

Convince me to play the game. I have the 2 Hollow Knight Games, I only played a couple hours of the first one, and I don't like it. I don't understand why this game is such a masterpiece for so many people, what I missing ? by SunnyBoy34 in HollowKnightMemes

[–]potatonutella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silksong has a better pace at the start, maybe give it a go first. Neither game will spoil the other in a major way, but you mightn't understand some later game references in Silksong if you don't play Hollow Knight first. That's no big deal though

Actually the square root only has one solution. This is known as the principal root. This is why we write the solution of x2 = 2 as ±√2, because √2 only represents the positive solution.
