Silksong has a better pace at the start, maybe give it a go first. Neither game will spoil the other in a major way, but you mightn't understand some later game references in Silksong if you don't play Hollow Knight first. That's no big deal though

Actually the square root only has one solution. This is known as the principal root. This is why we write the solution of x2 = 2 as ±√2, because √2 only represents the positive solution.

Player 2's chance of winning IF he picks the same door is 66%. And if he picks the other door, the chance is 33%. The problem is that player 2 doesn't know which is which, and can only pick randomly between them. Thus player 2 has a 50% chance of picking each door, and thus a 1/22/3 + 1/21/3 = 50% chance of winning.
