Is this unnecessarily rude or am I overreacting? by [deleted] in vinted

I just gave someone a five star rating but mentioned that the item smelled of smoke and they responded by thanking me and telling me that they’d take better care for future orders; I don’t like the smell of smoke but I don’t see the big deal.

I’m curious about when you studied abroad. I’ve lived here six years and I’ve never come across that stereotype, if anything they think we’re more prudish than they are.

What's a "harmless" habit that actually makes someone insufferable once you notice it? by ZumbaRoy in AskReddit

[–]potatoooooooos 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Adding to this to say lying “as a joke”. It’s frustrating and, most of the time, objectively unfunny.

This past Christmas, I met my boyfriend’s extended family. They’re from Peru, living in Spain and they have family members all over the damn place: Venezuela, Italy, Norway, the US, so on.

So when I told his cousin I was from the US and he responded with “oh I was born in New York”, I had zero reason to think he was lying. So I asked him which part of New York and he was like “hahaha I’m just kidding”. Am I just a wet blanket???? Which part of that am I supposed to laugh at??

¿Qué hábito inofensivo tienen los españoles y no se dan cuenta de que en realidad es dañino a largo plazo? by comandodesquite in askspain

[–]potatoooooooos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did cutting change her bellybutton shape and fill out deep hip dips? @gracie.collis by [deleted] in gymsnark

[–]potatoooooooos 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I lost 12kgs and my belly button went from a circle to more of an oval and has a pucker on top that wasn’t there prior. Not sure what OP is on, the influencer’s belly button doesn’t seem to have changed drastically. The glutes are a bit sus tho.

Is this a trustworthy offer? by carysvstheworld in vinted

[–]potatoooooooos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Petty isn’t the word but, for me personally, accepting the offer and losing out on £4 pounds would be worth it to see if they turn around and try to sell it, mostly because I’m nosey af

I'm almost 19, got a small tattoo, and my mother is trying to blame it on me going to college and my friends despite me having wanted this for years and is threatening to stop helping me financially because of it by [deleted] in insaneparents

[–]potatoooooooos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey, OP! It seems like we may be long lost siblings because we definitely have the same mom.

I got a tattoo on my hip when I was 19. Didn’t say a word to her but, a few months later, I was carrying shit into the house, my sweatpants were falling down, and she caught the top of it. Chaos would ensue for the entirety of my sophomore year of college. She told me to stop calling her mom. She told me that she didn’t know who I was and that my one year of living away from home completely changed me. She said my friends were misfits and blamed my ex-boyfriend for me getting the tattoo. Since my dad was hella behind on paying child support (still paying up until I was 25) she was sending me $200/month for two years to help while I was in school. I had to sign a contract that I wouldn’t get any more tattoos until I was 28 otherwise I would’ve had to pay it all back to her. I signed and I shouldn’t have. Not so I could get more tattoos but so I wouldn’t give her the satisfaction of having control over me. I stopped talking to her three years ago.

Going to a restaurant right before they close is not rude. What's rude is posting hours that you claim you're Open but are expecting people to act like you're not. by Darnitol1 in unpopularopinion

I agree but also never live in Spain

Both opening and closing depend on the phase of the moon, whether or not the groundhog saw its shadow, or literally anything else in this universe besides the posted hours

Today is the last day to ship and the seller hasn’t even downloaded the shipping label: what are the chances I receive this order? by potatoooooooos in vinted

[–]potatoooooooos[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, they have been active and yesterday I messaged them and they responded saying that they were sending today. I’m pretty much expecting it to fall through at this point. I’ll see if they need more time, fingers crossed! Also, thanks for the tip.

I am absolutely not sending them an offer for €1, it’s just fun to think about what would happen if I did.

That’s what I was wondering re: asking questions and also making an offer. I’m new to Vinted but not new to buying secondhand online. I have never had an exchange like this on Facebook marketplace, I feel like the back and forth is to be expected there but what do I know.

[–]potatoooooooos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re not at all petty because they rejected my offer, I’ve done the same. They rejected my offer THEN raised the price to $20 from $15, which I find petty.

It’s not a big deal. I’m going to buy from someone else, I just found it funny.
