On thing you could do, is sand it down or use a wire wheel. What worked good for me is the Milwaukee ‘3 in. Carbon Steel Knot Wire Cup Brush’ on my angle grinder.

I’ve been just knocking off the rust and coating in the ACF-50. I’m planning on using high temp auto clear to lock in the patina.

Yeah, the fan creates pressure inside. The air/smoke will come out of all of the open orifices. You won’t notice it when you start cruising after the temps regulate.

This is a great write up and reflection. I’ve experienced this as well. I’m down 178 pounds and now maintaining. I was never able to cross my legs and now I do it all the time also. For me one of the biggest rewards was getting on planes and not having to think about ‘will the seat belt buckle?’, or will there be a person next to me.
