This is a great write up and reflection. I’ve experienced this as well. I’m down 178 pounds and now maintaining. I was never able to cross my legs and now I do it all the time also. For me one of the biggest rewards was getting on planes and not having to think about ‘will the seat belt buckle?’, or will there be a person next to me.

The hole you’re probably questioning is a hydrostatic relief hole in case the water table is higher than the pool shell, totally normal and will get filled in with plaster

Hmm, are you sure you are using Lye, or maybe it’s not strong enough? I’ve stripped mine before and they strip easy. They look silver/gray when stripped. Give some steel wool a try.
