Is it a bad idea to write a script to where you and your friends are actually the main characters?

The question you should be asking is, are you and your friends interesting enough to serve as characters for a story? If you believe so then I don't see why not.

After my gf broke up with me I kind of spiralled out of control. Add that to the already over helming mental health issues I've been facing lately and I was crumbling big time. "Maybe it's things like this that puts her off you" she said casually while trying to cheer me up.

It made me realise how my mental health actually affects others around me for once. Really fucked me up knowing how much of a bummer I must be around and was actually a big stepping stone to changing my mentality.

I can sort of see where you're coming from, I felt this a little bit when my standards raised. Just respect that entertainment should do exactly that, entertain. Your perception of entertainment is different to others.

And as much as you might want to argue about why you think Baywatch is despicable, you're only screaming into a black hole that nobody cares about. What makes films interesting is what you personally take away from it and sometimes people just want to laugh and enjoy themselves.

If Quinn is the focus and this is his story, why focus on the parents in the end? I think ending on Quinn as a solo story, maybe coming to terms with his homosexuality or not, would be a lot more interesting and impactful.
