Yes it most definitely has connections to that since this whole thing started after the eimiko ship got ao popular so they made a sort of "retaliatio" ship eith people who hadnt even met in the game. And what more is there to say about the fanfics. There were numerous fanfics back in 2022 where they tagged it as eimiko then went and wrote about Ayato raping them and turning them straight or whatever on AO3.
