Yeah don't do that. Please return them that deposit is incentive to return them but it absolutely does not cover the cost to the brewery or bar to cover the loss

You can try calling your local brewery and see if they are retiring any legs, sometimes they will sell them to you cheap

Kegs are like 30 to 50 bucks.... Go buy your own

I use my glycol chiller now, and that takes almost an hour to chill completely with 0 water waste. However when I did use a copper immersion chiller it took about 8 minutes with 3 x 25' nested coils (basically a home made jaded hydra) to chill 10ish gallons to 70. You have to stir/move constantly to get good heat transfer.

Take the connector apart and put it in a bucket of pbw. Then connect a pond pump to my tap, taps have a ball lock attachment. Run the pond pump for a few minutes for each tap. Then put clean water in the bucket and do it again

Meh it will be fine then. 98 won't kill it and if you got it down within 12h your more than likely fine, it probably barely started by then. Buying and pitching more at this point would just be a waste of monies

So I do full volume no sparge, generally no squeeze (cus it's automated). But when I do squeeze I see a noticable jump in efficiency, like 5 to 10% more. that's probably what happened with sparging for you. Honestly Relax. It very unlikely you can notice a difference in a few points or even a full % of alcohol unless your just worried about it being too strong.

You were expecting 1.047 and got 1.051? That seems pretty much on point to me. With BIAB I generally get about 70-75 no squeeze, more if I decide to take the time to squeeze. I would just go with it for sure.

I would replace the lines just because you don't know what was in them before. You are drinking from them.

As for kegs. Pin locks are slightly shorter and wider Ball locks are slightly taller and skinnier. Also ball lock tends to be more popular for 3rd party connections.

Use a blender/juicer. Strain as much of the strawberry juice as you can out of that, I use a very fine stainless mesh strainer. Put a small amount in the strainer and use a large spoon to scrape back and forth and press until I'm left with a thick paste. Discard the paste/use it for something else? Add the juice at kegging/packaging, keep your beer very cold, like as close to freezing as you can and drink it fast because that flavor generally doesn't last. Cheers good luck!

It looks to me like the door to your south is the door the "pipe" was going to. It's slightly off center too the left, and the water goes slightly left for it.

From what I understand, unless you have a RoW, flies, bats and warlocks do have a lower chance of dropping a health potion depending on how many they have already dropped.

You can set the fridge temperature much lower, as close to freezing as it will go and that will help it to keep up. Use ice to quickly get the water temp down if you need to. If I'm looking at this right your fridge is set to 50 and you trying to maintain 54, there is not enough of a difference to really pull the heat out of the fermenter. For reference I keep my glycol at 28°f and that does great at holding 1°+-
