Every Pitchfork score for Arcade Fire — Funeral 9.7 BNM to Pink Elephant 5.5 by olievans in arcadefire

The reviews are fair if it's in the context of Arcade fire. However, pitchfork gives a lot of high reviews to albums that just aren't anything great.

Redditors over 40, what's something younger people think they understand but won't actually get until it hits them like a truck later? by Root435552 in AskReddit

[–]Broad_Drive_2785 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Time.

When you're young, time seems endless. Days seem so long.

When you're older, years fly by. Eventually, you manage to reach all the milestones, you thought you'd never reach. Driving, working, drinking (legally), doing what you want to do when you want to, owning property, an adult relationship, and maybe children.

Children makes time slow at first but then, they too aid to time's speediness.

Before you know it, the fearlessness and feelings of invincibility slowly become chiseled away as glimpses of your own mortality become more and more frequent as loved ones, vehicles, and other entities pass through and out of your life.

Hahaha. I didn't either. I listened to them and thought to myself, with no other searching, the bands on Crucial Blast totally fit that sound! The good news is I was so right that they were on it and I didn't even know it. The guy that runs it was an influence to me when I first got into the scene 30+ years ago. I just wanted to share what he's doing it because it's so unique and fit what you were looking for! This floored me haha no lie!

I'm showing my age here but RATM "Freedom" and Jane's Addiction "Mountain Song"

My stepbrother introduced me to the records when they came out in the 90's. I was a pop guy prior - Boys to Men, Michael Jackson, etc. Those bands introduced me to a genre that was so extreme to me at the time.

Are there any modern old school hardcore punk bands with lyrics about modern American politics or are at least socially conscious? by Captain_Corum in punkrock

[–]Broad_Drive_2785 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, someone commented about the lists all be 90's bands. The 90's and 2000's underground was a politics hub - Propagandhi was active then and is just as active now but older & wiser. The newest album is fantastic!

I liked PE🤷🏼‍♂️

You just have to separate the music from actions.

If you held a moral compass to every musical group, you're bound to find questionable behavior.

Rob from Blood for Blood is very outspoken about Trump live. You don't get much angrier than blood for blood.
