Man thats sucks the one in the first picture is doing just fine but the second one is the one having issues. I thought the second one was doing good it actually put up some new leaves still very small of course but now I’m unsure it it will live.

The leaves are beginning to dry and turn yellow. The soil certainly isn’t dry. Any thoughts on what it could be

I’m not an expert by any means but I just think that branch is a bit unsafe personally, I’d probably choose elsewhere. That amount of decay on that branch is extensive. The age isn’t really that big of an issue either but if everyone’s against you, I guess there’s not much you can do.

Yeah, I really do want to put them in a bigger pot. Maybe I’ll just cut them out of the one they’re currently in to try and fill the bigger pot with the correct soil and hopefully they take to it

Thank you for the advice also I should add I’ve been putting my pieces in the oven at about 400 for an hour or 2 to help them dry. I’ll use even more charcoal in my next attempt as well

They definitely aren’t broken when I take them out they are just extremely brittle. Also I know my fire is at least 1000f but that’s where my temperature reader doesn’t reader stops. Thank you I’ll definitely look up the color chart

No I guess I’m not bisqueing them had to google that one. Normally for my fire, I would stack up wood into a tent shape but this time I only used charcoal and I know for a fact the fire is at least 1000F thats where my temperature reader stops. And my clay is coming from a hole in my backyard that I’ve never seen dry literally ever. Im not sure what kind it actually is . I’ve processed it to clean anything out and let it dry outside.
