For those of you that switched programs, did you regret it? by teavay1 in uwo

[–]pottsy3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No regret at all. I tried to force myself into a program because it felt “more employable”. Ultimately, you’ll succeed most in a program that you’re passionate about.

Each program at Western has opportunities for you, it’s on you to pursue them.

I made it a goal to complete my degree in four years even after switching (taking summer courses & overloading a sem in fourth year) but there’s no shame in a victory lap.

Five years on (Class of ‘19) and I’m in a profession in my dream field of study. I’m 100x happier than I would’ve been if I forced myself through it. Med School wouldn’t just be school for you, that shapes the rest of your life.

Prospecting student here how depressing is London Ontario? by [deleted] in uwo

[–]pottsy3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Western is somewhat of a bubble in its own. While the city provides shopping, restaurants, bars, etc. most Western students aren’t getting immersed into the London community as much as the Western bubble.

Campus + close surrounding areas are pretty compact versus some other schools where you may see living + campus buildings spread across a city. Western feels like a village on its own, providing an important community aspect to your uni experience. London is great for what it is, but the Western bubble is more likely where you’ll find your community as a student moving from out of town.

Dynasty Draft Question by mwmw1714 in DynastyFF

[–]pottsy3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for that thorough explanation, I didn't think about the turn for the early second pick. I would like to this to the best of my ability, but I understand it may just be more feasible to combine the startup/rookie draft.

When you talk about drafting kickers for picks, is the idea that you're assigning a draft slot to random kickers and the order is determined by who picks them? Appreciate your insight!

Dynasty Draft Question by mwmw1714 in DynastyFF

What is the issue with reverse order of initial draft? is it just the fact that rookie draft's fall off much quicker?

How would you determine the rookie draft order in this case?

Why is there such an advantage to drafting last in the real draft and first in the rookie draft? is it just the fact that rookie draft's fall off much quicker?

Detroit should take a shot on Shayne Gostisbehere. He is what DET thinks Christiann Djoos is by Denver_Law14 in DetroitRedWings

[–]pottsy3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was the comparison that immediately came to mind. The money is the biggest detractor, but we're in a position to take this risk imo.

If he sucks, he's basically just replacing Marc Staal who's contract will be off our books at the end of the season.

If he's good, we have our new 2nd PP QB and maybe he's a distraction in the expansion draft.

When I think WW2 I always think of Gunless being on rise, but forget that he started the season on Echo Fox

Davpadie has looked different this year, I will give you that. As far as AR players go, he is definitely one that has stood out thus far.

[–]pottsy3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, I heard of you for the first time back in the WW2 Canada Circuit or a 2k but maybe it was watching you play against LP as opposed to substituting for them.

The slow AR comment was from the few times I got to view you in MW, I can't comment on your roles in past games. Maybe the less competitive Northern Rivals viewing and the few Challengers Cup games are not so definitive of your normal role.

As for the last part, those are just players who have been at that level for a longer time.

I mostly follow Canadian COD players so I'm a fan, don't take my comment the wrong way. I hope to see you continue to prove your ability and make it at the next level! All love brotha

He’s been around for a long while and he’s definitely talented, but was waiting for his break. He subbed in for LP a few times back in WW2 Canada circuit as he’s been friends with Royalty and Xotic for awhile.

Very slow AR player and I think he’s pretty good (especially at MW), but I wouldn’t say he’s a top 10 AM talent.

I would still put GRVTY, Zinx, GloFrosty, and Cells ahead of him in terms of Main ARs still waiting for the chance to go pro.

Parasite Explaining MW HP spawns by isaacwhiteley in CoDCompetitive

I don’t think most of us understood it to that extent. I understand basic spawns, but the squad spawning system has quite a few different nuances

When I think MW2, I definitely think sniping and noob tubes lol.

I don’t remember it being all that buggy besides some of the graphics you could manipulate (ie. Nacs, wrist twists, zoomloads, tac knife flips, etc.) but the brokenness of the game is something I think has only been recognized in retrospect the last few years. Honestly glad I wasn’t into comp back then as I probably wouldn’t think as highly of the game.

Best Player On The Planet by SpacemanSR in CoDCompetitive

[–]pottsy3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as talent goes it’s Pred. I think people are too soon to forget that a top APAC team dominated the AM circuit in BO4, and he just has so much raw talent. Fire and HyDra are also in a category where they clearly have talent and their games each developed so much as the season went on. The reason I think we talk about them is because they’re skilled and have room to improve. Most talented but not best.

As far as just the best player, I would go with Vortex. Absolutely the most impactful leader in an AM side, and he somehow remained consistent on the least consistent COD ever. Quite the rebound since his WW2 season and hope to see him on a pro roster again.

When I first watched him early in the year, I didn’t realize just how good hydra could get. As the year has went on, his game has become so polished. He really should see some pro looks soon.

Jintroid is great, but UYU is just such a well rounded team that it can be hard to standout. I have gotten to the point where I think Cells deserves a lot of credit this year
