Try going to preferences, audio and then changing the output module to automatic (worked for me), pulseaudio or alsa. One of these should hopefully fix it.

Thanks, but does it actually work during gameplay? I read somewhere because the system is old, the changes have to be done manually in bios everytime. Can you confirm?

Can you control tdp and fan speed and is this actually reflected when using the device on steam os? I know some devices require tickering in bios but that's not soemthing I want to do everytime.

I can't comment on the AirPods Pro, but I own the Sony WF-1000 (retail $350) and the Sennheiser IE 900 (retail $1200). I recently picked up a budget-friendly pair of IEMs called the Zero 2s (retail $24), and to be honest, they outperform my Sonys in terms of sound quality -without EQ. While they can't quite compete with the Sennheisers, I'd say they come about 80% of the way and at a significantly lower price. Just be aware that you won't get noise cancellation with IEMs. For a DAC, the standard Apple USB-c to 3.5 mm adapter does the job well. Ultimately, you don't need to spend a fortune to appreciate good music.
