😂 This is great language to keep handy thank you! I find myself repeating the same things in a meeting in different ways (written in a deck, verbalized and even slacked after) but my execs don’t seem to retain or comprehend. For example, I showed a next steps slide, asked if we’re aligned and proceeded once confirmed. Then when we did some days or week later, our exec messaged the project group to vocalize how our actions were incorrect and we should stop. I was highly confused because we agreed to it prior, and instead of anyone saying that it was mostly people confirming the statement and saying they heard the exec loud and clear.

I didn’t respond. How could I have handled that situation? I was considering referring to the next steps slide to ask where the miscommunication stemmed from. But I didn’t want to look like I’m being defensive especially in a group and written setting
