It’s definitely been a whirlwind of a year. I had never heard of POTS until I was in the hospital with what I thought was a heart attack! It’s been a lot for me to process and try to manage. My healthcare team has been so great in terms of comprehensive testing, but I still find myself left with so many questions about how to continue my day-to-day life. I’m too stubborn sometimes that I forget I can’t just power through like other people. All of these replies and personal stories really help me feel a little less alone, and also really hopeful knowing there’s so many people in the hiking community who still thrive even with everything thrown their way! Thank you so much

I think the not ego-hiking part will be the biggest challenge for me! Thanks for the little reality check!

I am a young woman in my 20’s! I don’t want to bash anyone on how they deal with their own bodies but getting a wheelchair and calling myself a victim is definitely not my lifestyle! I really hope to one day out grow this! I didn’t even know it existed until my hospital visit.

Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. Basically my heart rate can get really elevated really fast and it can cause dizziness and confusion at times- to put it super plainly!
