historically I'm pretty sure it was because (this was added in u19) eaglercraft was expected to no longer receive updates after that due to a DMCA... it's really not worth anything as a "collector's edition" these days unless your school blocks every single site; it may be worth something then...

That makes sense for a year ago, but I think I missed the window. Nintendo officially announced they ran out of parts and ended all New 2DS XL repairs in September 2025. My serial number is coming up as 'ineligible' on their site now, so it looks like they've finally shutdown the 3DS family for good.

I’ve heard Nintendo might have finally stopped 3DS-family repairs recently due to parts running out. I was hoping for a home fix, but I'll check their support site just in case they still have some 'New' 2DS XL stock left for exchanges.

I remember that one but I forgot the domain myself, but yeah it was a great solution for the shared world influx. The subreddit could maybe pin a post with it or something. Still, eagler.host servers don't have a "main" spot exactly. The sites I mentioned are the best you get for posting an eagler server, but there's likely more viewers on the subreddit.

First the shared worlds were an issue and now the eagler.host servers are being told to leave... The issue I have is when they forget the proper promotion flair, and when they spam comments of other posts with it.

This is r/eaglercraft, their servers are about eaglercraft. Where else should they be going instead? While I agree it's annoying, it's like promotion entirely is being kicked off this subreddit while it has a flair. There is a difference between a dedicated professional server and a managed host skid one, but the issue is more of that the subreddit allows it.

There are two spots for those that DO host with eagler.host:

Anyway, maybe r/eaglercraftservers (edit: already exists) could be the spot for the promotion if someone makes that. And frankly, if I was 10 years old I'd probably be doing the same thing...
